I recently stayed at Seda Ayala Center Cebu, and while there were some positive aspects, there were also several issues that made the overall experience average.
First, I want to say that the staff and service were very good. The employees were friendly, responsive, and did their best to address concerns when they were brought to their attention.
The breakfast buffet, however, was fairly average and the selection was somewhat limited for my taste. Unfortunately, during one morning at the dessert station, I noticed a small cockroach on the desserts. I informed a staff member, and she quickly came over and removed it. I advised that the entire area should be replaced, and to their credit they did change the items in that section afterward. Still, seeing that in a food area was concerning.
The gym was fine in terms of temperature, but the equipment itself was quite dated and could definitely use an upgrade.
As for the hotel itself, it feels quite dated overall. The hallways still have older carpeting from when the building used to operate as a Marriott, and the lighting on the floors is very dim, giving the hallways a somewhat gloomy feel. The exterior windows and outside areas also looked like they could use a good cleaning.
My room itself was clean, and thankfully I didn’t encounter any pests there. However, the toilet flush was weak, which seems to be a common issue in many places locally.
