”The hotel is newly opened, so everything was very fresh and clean, and the staff was friendly.”

”Clean room. Bed was too hard. Chair was broken down. Breakfast area was not kept up.”

”The hotel overall was great. Staff was super. They are going through renovations so there was a bit of a mess as to be expected. The ice machine was broke but the front desk provided ice. The breakfast area was out of coffee one day but they replenished next day. Room was clean. Once the renovations are done it will be great!”

”There was a weird smell throughout the building; not necessarily a bad smell but not necessarily good. Blankets were thin, old looking, stained and appeared to be burned with cigarettes. Hair dryer didn't work. Sink area didn't appear to be thoroughly cleaned. Flooring was all pretty bad looking and there was no trim of any sort around the bottom of the tub. Rooms were quiet. Mini fridge and a microwave that I didn't look inside of. Grab n go breakfast offered. Staff was pretty friendly and...

”This hotel opened its restaurant at 5 a.m. on Sunday, April 26, 2026, for breakfast for guests who were booked for a train excursion that boarded at 7 a.m. What excellent service. We talked to other people who had stayed at other local hotels and were told that some hotels did not alter their hours to accommodate this important event (the train ride to commemorate the 250th anniversary of the United States). Kudos to the Doubletree in Newark, Ohio.”

”The staff was super friendly and this is no reflection on them. Our room had suffered water damage and shouldn’t have been rented until properly restored, especially with costing nearly $200 per night. We sought out what we thought would be a higher end stay and we’re disappointed by that.”

”So bad that we were only there for 30 mins and didn’t stay the night. There was a line at the check-in desk so we stood there for almost 30mins to actually get checked in. All guests 18+ need to provide their id at check-in which I wasn’t aware about. Then when we received our key cards we went to our room. The room was not like the photos and reviews at all. The pillows were flat, the sheets had stains, there was dust on every surface, and the cleaning cart was parked right in front of our door...
