”Torel Quinta da Vacaria was the most beautiful and best stay in Douro Valley. The hotel was an architectural marvel, with its state of the art spa to the most spectacular views of the river. But the best part was its amazing staff and impecable service. This had been one of the best hotels we have stayed in the world and we HIGHLY recommend it.”

”Excellent location, Quiet. Kind staff, beautiful view, beautiful room and clean, very nice breakfast. Superb pool area and terrasse overlooking the Douro Valley. I highly recommend. Only downside is the bathroom and toilet is in the bedroom open area. However, there are other bathrooms for more privacy in a well decorated cabin outside the room. ”

It’s truly the most beautiful place I’ve stayed in Portugal. The owners, Paul and his wife, were incredibly welcoming, helpful, and full of local knowledge, which made the experience even more memorable. I can’t recommend this place enough—it’s the most peaceful retreat you could hope for.”

”Spectacular scenery. Our room with balcony was great. We sat there in the evenings with some wine and just enjoyed the landscape. Couple OK restaurants in walking distance and several wine yards close by to visit by car.”

”Amazing place! Great buffet breakfast and also an option to have the breakfast on the barrel terrace. The only minus was that I was travelling with a friend and requested to have two separate blankets. There was an extra in the closet but no cover to it. When calling again to ask for the separate blanket we were broaght 4 extra sheets but still no cover to the extra blanket. (The barrels seem to be more for couples travelling but it would be nice if the hotel would accomodate for others as well...

”The hotel had opened about a month ago, so it was very new. The location is good and the view over the Douro valley is nice, the terraces of the hotel and the rooms' balconies make it easy to enjoy it. Chairs on the room balconies would have been nice, though. The rooms were very nice, clean and comfortable. You could see that a lot of thought had been put on the overall design of the hotel with a lot of nice details, we liked that. The staff was quite young and eager, and sometimes fumbling a...
