”Fabulous experience. if you want the wild/lodge experience but still a staffed hotel with a bunch of services then this is for you! We were in the middle of the wilderness, with birds and sloths on site, but still had room service/clean up and buffet style breakfast and a pool! Absolutely recommend. good distance to all the sites/activity but far enough from the tourist trap that is la fortuna!”

”This place was absolutely amazing. We loved it from the time we pulled in. Very beautiful property and the gate pulling in is so pretty. Daniella was very helpful and boy can she cook an amazing breakfast! Make sure to book her breakfast at the property at least once. ”We had a great time at FINCA el Refugio de Papito. The experience will stay with our family forever. The hosts were welcoming, friendly and went out of their way to make sure we had a Pura Vida experience. Whether it was fishing in the pond, seeing the sloths, macaws, iguanas, turtles or herons it was fantastic. Their offers of fresh coconut, plantains, and fresh cane juice were well received. ”Melanie and Ericka were both very responsive and helpful navigating this property. The view of Arenal Volcano was spectacular and worth the winding, bumpy roads to get there. The accommodation was beautiful. We had wished to spend more time on the deck (our favorite lounging spot) and rooftop patio, but the weather wasn't very cooperative.
