This cute place is in the heart of downtown and UVA. Very walkable. Finding a place to park close by can be challenging but at least you can unload right by the check in. The charm and thought put into the furnishings makes this fun and I would return. Everything looked new, bed and linens great, and the turntable and records were a big hit with thoughtful jazz selections. Our king room for two was very spacious. No closets, but pegs and hangers good. The front desk lady Chris provided ice and amenities when needed. As she was new to the area, she couldn't answer questions we had about eating, the trolley times, etc. I would suggest she spends more time doing concierge homework to be be helpful in this area, but she had a sweet personality. It can be a noisy and busy downtown, but it did not prevent us from sleeping well. We made use of the nice fridge. The coffee wasn't good but the did have a kettle to make hot water. I would suggest coffee out or bring your own. It would be nice if they considered a Keurig in addition to the kettle. Nice outside area to eat in with tables and benches and a Taco truck on site which we made use of for breakfast one morning. Very good and they had good coffee as well. Again, we would definitely come back. Only a few miles away are wineries and Monticello and walking distance to UVA. Great job on a unique inexpensive hotel in downtown. Perfect for us and our stay.

The 1950s theme is fun and well-done. Pink Princess phone, Crossley record player with great jazz classic LPs (we listened to the Coltrane/Ellington session), and beautiful, funky mosaic tile in the bathroom. Two complaints: weak shower pressure, and the air conditioner didn’t cool as well as we'd like. But we would definitely go back and stay longer the next time we're in Charlottesville.

Comfortable and clean - with style! Bed is comfy, bathroom is beautiful. The whole room is fantastically Mod - including a record player! The staff is also very friendly and helpful. Highly recommend.

Fun little property, great area right in the middle of town, easily access the university and plenty of food options. Great place to stay for a parent or student with a short visit. We already have reservations to stay here again. I will say the train goes by in the middle of the night so that can be quite loud along with the bars and college kids partying. But it’s still a great hotel and great for the $ we were pleasantly surprised! The parking is across the street in a parking garage but it’s pretty easy and only costs $7 overnight. Honestly cheaper and faster than the hotels with valet that we have stayed at. If you have a main floor room you will hear the people walking above you. It didn’t bother us though. We will be back soon!

Had to pay for public parking. No comp.Surrounding area very noisy well past midnight. I texted twice to complain and they said they’d notify non emergency number. Noise still continued…sounded like all night karaoke party.

This is a beautifully unique hotel with a lot of personality. The room is modern and designed to perfection! And the record player is a great touch along with the record selection. The only negative is the parking due to it being a busy area with limited parking and the parking deck a little walk but not too bad. We would definitely stay here again if we’re in town!

Ear Plugs and Ubers
Beautifully appointed hotel in the center of UVA; however, there were some significant challenges. Problem 1: Parking. Parking was problematic, really non-existent. If you are going to stay here - utilize Uber/Lyft because there were more parking enforcement officers than spaces. Problem 2: NOISE! The hotel is adjacent to a railroad track so at least twice during the sleeping hours of midnight to 7am we heard (and felt) freight trains passing through. Also, we were on the ground level and heard tons of foot-stomping and general movement from our neighbors above. Overall a nice hotel. When I went to formally check-out at 1030, the front lobby was locked and a sign on the door said be back at 2pm....huh?

This is a super cute hotel in a great location at a fair price. I loved it! However, at two in the morning, I thought the world was coming to an end! In my sleepy stupor, it took me a few minutes to realize it was simply a very long and very loud train passing by somewhere very nearby. The room literally shook! I was able to easily get back to sleep, so all was not lost. This place would be five stars without the train line. Even with the with train, it is still a super cute hotel, exceptionally clean, with a friendly staff.

The Little Mod Hotel
Finding a parking place is very difficult. The staff were very nice and excellent, and I love the decor. There was an open house the night that we were there and it was very noisy so I noticed that the rooms are definitely not sound proof.

This is a terrific motel. They did a great job, renovating an old motel and making it very cool. I think it might not be great for extended stay. It was wonderful for one night.

I ended up at Little Mod Hotel after a horrendous snafu by Expedia. They were super helpful in getting me into my room as soon as possible on very little notice. This boutique hotel is the best parts of mid-century mod, with all the function and comfort of today. The area is very walkable with Main St. only a block and a half away.

This is a motel and not a hotel. It’s very cute and really clean. However…There’s a very long train that rolls through in the middle of the night rattling windows and making all kinds of racket. Also we scheduled cleaning each day and no one ever cleaned.
