Great space to stay with friends
Very pleased with the cabin. My friends and I found plenty to do, between the hot tub, fusball, puzzles, and easy access to Lake Huron for strolls on the beach. Cheboygan was pleasant and had some solid restaurants too, and the state park has nice and easy trails.

Relaxing Stay

Perfect anniversary getaway
This place is even better than it’s description, pictures and words don’t do it justice! The view is AMAZING, the solitude, amenities, and just everything was exactly what we were looking for for our winter anniversary stay. The host was extremely kind, thoughtful, and helpful. Everything we would possibly need and then some was provided.. we only needed to bring our own food and drinks. (Besides clothing of course) We will definitely be returning! More than once I’m sure!!

Amazing getaway!

Quick Weekend Getaway

Great Thanksgiving Getaway
We had a great Thanksgiving family getaway! The cabin is the perfect mix of things to do and a peaceful retreat! We enjoyed walks along Lake Huron and family game nights in the basement. Thanks Dale for everything. We are hoping to return sometime!

A Fall time GEM!
This was a great home, well kept, great cabin feel atmosphere and perfectly tucked away in the tall beautiful trees. Nearby hiking perfect 5 minute walk to Lake Huron, bird watching, hawk watching, we even got to see a massive bald eagle a few times! Very cool. This was such a tranquil, peaceful, colorful, relaxing vacation which is exactly what my husband and I love. This home is tucked away between the most vibrant bright trees that we literally got to see change before our very own eyes!! I can’t say anything bad about this home or location it was a slice of heaven. My husband and I even had a great time having some game time tournaments too! Pool, ping-pong, fooz-ball and even mac-man we felt like kids again. Dale was a lovely host easy to get a hold of ready to answer all our questions and give any recommendations if we needed. Another wonderful trip to MI and this cabin was perfect! Can’t wait to go back next year!

Perfect fall vacation
We had an amazing time at the cabin. The location is beautiful, and we loved falling asleep to the sound of waves each night. We especially enjoyed the hot tub, fire pit, and cozy gas fire stove. The owner is super nice and responsive and even alerted us about the possibility of a northern lights viewing, which we were able to then watch from the lakeshore! We hope to be back.

Not a ‘Luxury’ cabin!
1. MISLEADING COMMUNICATION ABOUT MUSTY ODOR. Before booking I asked if there were musty odors inside the cabin. The answer was, “the cabin is clean. Nobody has complained.” I should have picked up that he didn’t give me a straight yes or no. The bedroom and game room were unusable due to severe musty odor. With no screens in downstairs windows and no humidifier, the mildew was just trapped. Upon arrival, I texted the owner. He brought screens and a humidifier. I knew this would make little difference. I told him I would have never rented the house if I knew about the odors. He just said all houses have musty lower levels. Terrible justification! Many finished basements don’t have musty odors. ‘Luxury’ cabins don’t either! Major disappointment! My adult daughter had to sleep in the uncomfortable bunk bed because one of the rooms we paid for was unusable. Running the AC didn’t help as musty smells came out of all registers. So AC was usable also. 2. DON’T GO IN THE HOT TUB! I contracted folliculitis, a bacterial skin infection from the hot tub. I highly recommend Pro Health Urgent Care. Got a quick diagnosis and antibiotics. Hot tub needs the right maintenance before it’s used by anyone. 3. LOTS OF OLD FOOD IN FRIDGE AND CABINETS. In nice rentals these items are removed, giving a clean impression and room to put your own food. 4. LAUNDRY ROOM. Something is wrong with laundry tub because you shouldn’t smell sewer gases when tub is drained. This contributed to the smell.

Best family getaway!
My husband and 3 girls stayed in this beautiful cabin on the lake. Cabin is super clean even the hot tub was inviting and clean, had everything we needed plus extras. This cabin has one neighbor but with all the trees you feel like you are the only one out there. So quiet and relaxing. The beach was pretty rocky but the kids loved every minute of rock hunting and we captured some amazing photos! A million times yes! Your stay here will be 5 stars for sure!

This place is a slice of Heaven
It is easy to see these owners take pride in their property and their guests time enjoying it! Every accommodation you can think of is there! It was spacious, high end, peaceful, just amazing! Our family enjoyed this property immensely at the end of April. While it was still in the 40’s, we took advantage of the hot tub, the stairway/path to the beach, the game room, the living room, the games, and the general feeling of being at the edge of existence while being 20 minutes or less from everything someone could need in Cheboygan! If it were warmer, we could have used the fire pit, the boats (they even have life jackets of many sizes) and even just a good ole fashioned nature hike! We were able to use the binoculars to see wild life in Lake Huron from the main floor balcony as well as see a cargo ship pass by. My better half and I have been to many cabins in the area and we believe (as do our 6&14 yr old girls) this is the best place we’ve been! Book it! I just ask that you don’t book for our next trip there!! Ha!

Cozy Cabin Getaway
What a perfect spot! The cabin has everything you could need and/or want. The pure beauty of the scenery and peaceful environment is just what a family needs to escape the craziness norm of life. We had so much fun playing pool and sitting and relaxing in the hot tub. The trail that leads to the water was perfect too! Hope to be back!!

Slice of heaven on lake huron
Amazing gem of a property for a great price. View of the lake is unparalleled. Bonfire, grill and hot tub are great amenities as are the games in the game room. There is a property to the East that is kind of close but I’m sure in the spring/fall/summer the leaves on the trees provide more privacy. The hot tub is recessed and private from view. Love the pathway down to the lake and that pets are allowed. We will definitely be back :)

What a wonderful relaxing time we had. It’s just what our family needed - a time to be still. The beach is very different from the sandy beaches of Lake Michigan we live on but the rocks are a beauty of their own! And the games were a huge hit with the teenagers!

Great Up North feel
We had a wonderful winter week here. Beautiful setting, loved loft bedroom where you could look at the lake, and soaking in the hot tub. Well-equiped kitchen for cooking your own meals, but easy drive to Cheboygan if you want to eat out. Highly recommend.

The perfect family getaway any time of year
This was absolutely the perfect family vacation. The cabin is extremely clean, spacious, and cozy, and comes with all the needed amenities and then some. The view of the beautiful birch trees and Lake Huron is absolutely stunning. There’s only one other rental property nearby so it’s very private. It’s a great place to go and just get out of the normal routine and relax and unwind with family or even by yourself. My husband and kids and I had so much fun just hanging around, walking down to the lake (despite the freezing cold temperatures), playing pool and cooking together. It was snowing and freezing out during our stay so the gas-operated wood burning stove helped keep us warm and created a really nice and cozy atmosphere. The host, Dale, is always available if needed. Be sure to bring enough food for your stay as the nearest store is about 10 miles away. We cannot wait to come back to this beautiful cabin!

A perfect location for a quiet getaway in the winter. Amazing views of Lake Huron. A very nice log cabin/lodge with plenty of room for the family. Cozy log cabin in the best way
If you are looking for a log cabin that is easy to get to but still feels "remote" than consider Dale's cabin. Very comfortable and packed full of amenities (e.g. fire pit, hot tub, pool table, etc.) this would be a great place to stay as a family or a group of adults just wanting to relax.

Great vacaction!
The house was lovely. The property and trails were great for walking. We loved the beautiful water, views and rock hunting. The waves at night sounded like the ocean. It was so relaxing. We did wish it was farther off the road due to hearing traffic go by but that was only a small inconvenience in comparison to all the other wonderful amenities!! This home is also close to another home on the next lot but they had left for the season so it was quiet. Enjoyed the freighters going by on the lake as well. Our hosts helped us with a few minor requests and we appreciated their attentiveness. It was a great vacation!

Pleasant Rustic Cabin Getaway
This location is very lovely, with a very welcoming atmosphere that feels rather like walking into a cozy backwoods lodge owned by a friend of a friend, with its sense of hospitable comforts and charming taxidermy decorations. The amenities are great for group setting entertainments, with a collection of board games (though we brought our own), a pool table, and even a functioning two-player arcade machine. The walk down to the shore from the cabin was short yet lovely, though individuals with mobility issues might want to take their time on the old stairs. Perfect for fall, with superb views of the foliage not only around the property but from the large lake-facing window, where the trees descend down to frame a very lovely vista of the horizon. The bedroom arrangements sprawl across the cabin itself, and those who enjoy certain degrees of climate control might want to be strategic about which room they take up (the basement is the coolest, and the loft is the warmest).

Fantastic property in a beautiful location
Totally awesome location and views with steps and a path to lake Huron. Loved the charm and amenities of the cabin. The kitchen is well stocked, plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms, a game room and washer/dryer on site. Also loved the gas stove, it really heats up the place and is awesome to sit by and take in a good book, beverage, etc The outdoor balconies and fire pit area are awesome. As is of the course the outdoor hot tub. That was one of my favorite parts for the Chilly October evenings. The cabin is about 10 or so miles outside of Cheboygan. Very easy day trips to local hiking, biking or ATV trails. We of course explorered Cheboygan and did day trips to Indian River (two breweries to check out) and Mackinac City and even explored Mackinac Island. This is the perfect spot if you are looking to explorer that area of the state. A couple of things to note. WiFi is not the fastest but it is there. No fault of the owners, I mean, you are the woods after all. ATT cell service worked fine for us. The beach is very rocky. If you are planning on going into the water, wear some water shoes, you will need them. And the mattress where in great shape just a little stiff for our liking. But hey, that's a personal preference. I can't wait to get back to the McIntosh Cabin during the summer months. Thanks you Dale for letting us enjoy your wonderful cabin.

Home Away from Home
My husband and I spend our 1 year wedding anniversary here and it was absolutely fantastic! The cabin itself was beautiful and the view of Lake Huron was breathtaking. Since this home has direct access to Huron we spent a lot of time sitting on the bench they provide right on the beach. It was amazing! This home is also very close to Mackinac City so we were easily able to make a day trip over to the island. We had a fantastic stay and the hosts were so accommodating! Thank you for such a great time!

Location, Location, Location
Enjoyed our 2nd year coming back to this beautiful house with such private & peaceful surroundings. The house is well appointed and has everything you need. Hot tub is well maintained and so nice to relax in. You are just steps away to the lake, where you can search for the perfect rocks and take a swim in the crystal clear waters of Lake Huron. You’ll see Kayakers: sailboats and freighters any given day,. Downtown Cheboygan is less than 15 minutes and Mackinaw City about 40 minutes. We look forward to returning next summer.

Relaxing summer getaway
We had an enjoyable stay for 3 weeks in July-Aug, with family and friends visiting for shorter durations. The cabin is cozy and homey, with a nice view of the lake from the cabin-width back porch. Lots of games and activities for children in the large basement area. We walked on the beach (mostly pebbles) nearly every day, and the dogs loved it. Bring water shoes if you plan to go in, or launch the canoes. Host Dale was very helpful and attentive, even providing local fishing guidance. When a storm knocked a large tree down blocking the driveway, he personally took care of in a matter of 1/2 hour. The only minor downside we experienced was keeping the basement bedroom from getting too cold on days when the a/c was running (and that was not too many, even in July-Aug) , but the small space heater and blankets provided did the trick.

Perfect, quiet secluded property
Very beautiful and peaceful place! We enjoyed our stay and can’t wait to come back! Everything we could possibly need was there! Lived Up To Its Name
The McIntosh Solitude Lodge provided our family of 5 adults, 2 teens and a Labrador a week of peace and relaxation in a gorgeous spot along the Lake Huron shore. The equally beautiful cabin was clean, roomy, and well maintained with a fun "up north" vibe. The pool table and foosball table along with the hot tub and the abundance of places to chill out with a good book or just enjoy the view of the Lake and surrounding woods made everyone happy. And there's lots to see and do in the area for outings or day trip adventures. The beach is rocky, so water shoes and floating devices would be advised. Our host, Dale, was outstanding in communication and making sure we ahd everything we needed.

Quiet weekend away
I had a good experience renting this property. Dale was helpful from how together, how to get in, places to go and things to see. When we got there and I touched base with him, he came to the house and introduced himself and even brought us some wood for a fire the first night. I think he made the weekend start off better.
