”We were tired of being around all the tourists and wanted something that said “Welcome to Colorado”. This was the place.
We received emails from the resort with detailed directions on driving and registration that were easy to follow. The five mile drive up the gravel road took a little longer than expected because a flock of sheep that decided they needed to cross the road in front of us!
We had dinner in the restaurant that was good. Many locals were there eating as well. It happened to be...

”I only stayed 1 night as last minute stay and it did the job. A.little sketchy when i arrived bc im not used to motels, but My room was clean, quiet. Good water pressure. Bed was comfy. Felt pretty safe overall. Owner at counter was friendly and helpful! Overall better stay than I expected and actually better experience than some of the major hotel chains I've stayed in. Would stay again.”

”Loved this place! Will go back again as soon as I'm able. The Sheep Ranch is a small unit, a great escape for one person. I was getting away for peace and quiet and I got it! I'll try their other unit when I can go with my husband, but I know I will be back.”

”Very nice small unit on working ranch. Lots of very thoughtful touches from owners. Cute store on site. Incredible view of west elk mountains. Kitchen is well appointed for cooking with bbq and outside seating. Note that bedroom (bedroom is huge) is upstairs while bathroom is downstairs for those that need to use restroom during the night. North rim of Black Canyon is about 20 min drive. South rim is 90 min drive. We loved staying here.”
