In summer, the forest paths are revealed on walks or bike rides that wind their way through secret clearings and bucolic panoramas. Sometimes you can stop off at the banks of the River Lesse, whose calm waters caress tired feet, before setting off again for a castle hidden behind a century-old hedge, or a brewery where the famous Ciney beer takes pride of place. Further on, the Furfooz nature reserve stretches out like an open history book on rock and silence, where every step seems to awaken whispers of the past.

When winter sets in, enveloping the region in a blanket of mist and frost, the setting becomes almost magical. Walks become slower, more contemplative. You come across families bundled up, cheeks rosy, laughing in the heights of an adventure park or sliding down the gentle slopes around Dinant, whose citadel proudly dominates the frozen meanders of the Meuse.
