The Hygge House PNW is a place to unwind, get cozy and enjoy the company of those you love. Cuddle up with a cup of tea or a good book and enjoy a restful retreat.

Enjoy country vibes while being moments away from Happy Valley city center. Whether you're in town visiting friends and family or looking to experience everything Portland has to offer, Hygge House has you covered. The Hygge House is a completely renovated guest house that sits on 1 acre surrounded by towering trees and peaceful pastures. Within walking distance to local restaurants and stores, this home is also in the ideal location to access downtown Portland (25 minutes) or all of the hiking and adventures that Mt Hood National Forest provides.

We hope you enjoy your time spent here and leave feeling relaxed and more connected with the ones you love. The purchase of this property is a dream fulfilled for us. We have fully updated the space with our guests in mind and we are excited to share it with you.

Hygge House PNW is a 830sq ft 3 bedroom/1 bathroom guest house with 2 cozy common spaces, smart TV, electric fireplace, dedicated work space, stocked coffee bar and peaceful country views. The mid century modern decor exudes form and function with thoughtful touches throughout.

Enter the home and you are greeted to the first common space that has been tastefully furnished with West Elm furniture. A couch and armchair with cozy blankets and modern lamps makes the perfect place to enjoy a good conversation or book.

All three bedrooms have distinct design features, showcasing modern artwork and greenery. These rooms have queen mattresses outfitted with comfortable bedding and pillows for a restful retreat. One of the bedrooms features a dedicated work space. There is high speed internet throughout the home

Although the Hygge House does not provide a kitchen you will find a beautifully designed and fully outfitted coffee bar that is also equipped with a retro microwave, toaster and mini fridge/freezer. We take your caffeine needs seriously at the Hygge House and have Keurig pods and tea available, as well as local coffee that you can brew by the pot or in a french press. We are also happy to direct you to any of the nearby restaurants or some of our favorite spots within Portland at large.

Tastefully furnished with high end pieces, you are sure to feel comfortable in our space.

  • The California Condor was a common sight along the Columbia River in Lewis and Clark's day. By the early 1980's, there were only twenty-two left on the face of the planet, all in California. Today, thanks to a massive effort to re-populate the species via in-captivity pairing, there are some two-hundred members. But their recovery is far from assured. The Oregon Zoo has undertaken its own recovery effort whose ultimate goal is the re-introduction of the species into the protected wilderness area around the Columbia River Gorge. In short, to bring them home. For now, they live out their days in a vast, outdoor aviary designed specifically to mimic their habitat in the wild. If you have never seen one up close before, I urge you to come take a look. They are larger than any flying bird you will ever see, unless you go to Peru. And though black and white practically from head to toe, their plumage shines and reflects the light like dark, polished metal. If that doesn't suit your fancy, I will tell you that, as with all big birds, if you wait around long enough, they will do something so awe-inspiring that it will take your breath away, and something so goofy that you will laugh out loud. Nice place, quiet until we were woken at 7 am on Saturday morning by someone blasting music in their car directly below us for 20 minutes or so, and then doing something in the garage that created pounding noises until 8 am. Not sure if it was other guests or people who live at the property, too early and dark to tell!

Renaissance, fair getaway, I have to do the.Review for the place

We got there super late, we passed by the place about 6 times before we found it because we were super tired and we were looking for lit up lights on the mailbox! We all laughed. Anyway, it was perfect. Beds were great, everything was clean. It was quiet and secluded. The coffee bar was perfect! Plenty of options. Would have liked the kurig filled with fresh water, but no biggie, we had just enough for 2 cups. We have no complaints. We would definitely come back. Thank you for letting us stay.

My family, all adults, traveled to OR for a wedding. Location was great for all the wedding and local attractions. Quick to Mt Hood, quick to downtown, etc Property was very comfy and clean. We weren't there a whole lot and was a perfect size for us. Communication with host was always spot on. All queries were responded to in very short order. We have a wonderful stay!

Enjoyed our stay. We attended a wedding in BeaverCreek and this location was good. Space was a bit small for two couples and a 6 year old. Only one bathroom and there is no kitchen sink but it was clean, beds were comfortable and hosts were great.
