Numerous well-signposted hiking trails of different lengths lead through the Harz National Park. Mountain bikers can start tours of the "Volksbank Arena Harz" routes here, and those who have not brought their own bike can easily rent a mountain bike or e-bike here. The small town is also a fantastic starting point for motorcyclists for the most beautiful trips.
In winter, Torfhaus is an interesting destination for skiers, cross-country skiers and sleigh riders: some beautiful cross-country ski trails, a drag lift for skiers and a toboggan lift exclusively for sleigh riders promise varied snow fun.
