”This was a last minute booking. One snafu with Vacasa with them not being able to verify my ID via DL but with a quick phone call that was corrected. The home itself is nice and has plenty of space and amenities. The decibel reader is a little off-putting but I understand with VA laws being the way they are. Overall, it was a nice stay.”

”Squirrel's Nest is an absolutely charming cottage in a quaint town. Great location & perfect for our needs. We only stayed a weekend, to attend the Sounds of the Mountains storytelling festival at nearby Camp Bethel. We hope to go back when we can stay longer, to see more of the town & surrounding area.”

”we only stayed one night 5pm-6am on a Wednesday). the apartment was clean and there were plenty of amenities. The neighborhood was quiet, but there were still restaurants and bars in the nearby area. There's a perfect view of the Roanoke Star from the rooftop. Downtown was a but sleepy but not dangerous.”

”Access for the lake was not good. Would have appreciated steps or, walkway or a railing. My husband is in heart failure an he only got to get in the boat once. Because of the climb. Because we could not use the awning it would have been nice to have an umbrella for the table. The house was beautiful, however it would have been nice to have a TV in each bedroom. There were no dishcloth to wash dishes as the rack in the dishwasher is broken. No trash bags. Hand soap in only the downstairs...

”Absolutely perfect stay. Everything is exactly as pictured. The bed is so comfortable, the shower and tub are divine. The creek is cool and refreshing. ”I rented this house for a romantic weekend with my girlfriend. The house was well kept and clean. The area is perfect. The house is located on a small private street. ”We were delighted with our stay at Shady Grove. The cabin is extremely well laid out, clean with quality throughout. My wife and I enjoyed hiking on the private 3 mile trail, seeing the grapes up close and from the cabin. The area is completely secluded and private with the exception of deer, fireflies, bluebirds and rabbits. The outdoor amenities were great and we used the grill for dinners we enjoyed on the patio. We will definitely plan to return.”

”The hot breakfast was good, with various options such as eggs, sausages, waffles, fruit, and more. The beds are comfy. The staff is not always at the front desk, and it would be helpful if they had a little bell to ring to alert front desk staff someone is waiting.
