Hirsimökki Mississippi-joella Pokegama-järvellä!

Tämä on hiljattain päivitetty ja maalattu ympäri vuoden sijaitseva mökki, jolla on hirsirakennus. Se on yli 1700 valmista neliöjalkaa ja siinä on keskeneräinen kellarikerros 1,5 hehtaarilla. Mökki on Mississippi-joella 300 metrin päässä rannasta, ja se on lyhyen venematkan päässä Pokegama-järvelle, Jay Gould -järvelle ja Blackwater-järvelle.

Ympärivuotinen matkustamosäiliö on pääsisäänkäynti mutahuoneeseen, jossa on myös pesukone ja kuivaaja. Kävelet lyhyen käytävän läpi tullaksesi perhehuoneen, keittiön ja ruokasalin pääasialliseen oleskelutilaan, jossa on avoin pohjaratkaisu ja holvikatot. Perhehuoneessa on kaksi valtavaa ikkunaa, joista on näkymä Mississippi-joelle. Ruokasalista on neljän vuodenajan kuisti, joka menee ulos kannelle ja josta on näkymät joelle.

Master-sviitissä on queen-size-vuode ja vuodesohva. On oma uloskäynti ja kansi makuuhuoneesta. Kylpyhuoneessa on kaksi pesuallasta, poreallas ja erillinen suihku. Toinen makuuhuone on vierasmestari, jossa täysikokoinen sänky ja kahden hengen sänky, joka on kiinnitetty kylpyhuoneeseen. Kolmannessa makuuhuoneessa on kaksi erillistä koko kerrossänky parivuode lisäksi. Kuistilla on futon, joka voi muuntua täysikokoiseksi sängyksi. Kellarissa on valmis puoli kylpy. Ruokapöydässä on 6 paikkaa ja keittiön tiskillä on 4 ylimääräistä jakkaraa. Sadepäivinä on 42 tuuman taulutelevisio, kaapeli, DVD-soitin ja Nintendo 64. Siellä on myös erilaisia DVD-levyjä, arvoituksia, lautapelejä, kirjoja ja kortteja.

Mökki on varustettu ilmastoinnilla ja lämmöllä. Se on kiinnitetty kaupunkiveteen.

Nuotion pitämiseksi on palo kuoppa. Meillä on istuimet ulkona. Piha on täydellinen pelaamiseen kuten maissireikä, frisbee-sauva, sulkapallo, bocce-pallo tai kroketti. Ajotiellä on myös koripallovanne! Voit nauttia kahdesta kajakkistamme tai pystyssä olevasta melolaudastamme (sisältyy vuokraan) (SUP). Joki on erittäin rauhallinen aivan mökin ulkopuolella.

Alueella on paljon tekemistä. Grand Rapids on 5 minuutin ajomatkan päässä. Pokegama-golfkenttä, Judy Garland -museo, Chippewan kansallismetsä, pyörä- ja kävelyreitit, hirvieläinten ja lintujen metsästys, kalastus, mönkijät, lasten löytömuseo, metsähistoriakeskus, Gilbert Mansion. Kaikille löytyy todella jotain!

Talvella moottorikelkkailu on valtavaa Grand Rapidsissa, yli 600 polulla. Siellä on myös hiihto ja lumikenkäily.

The view of the Mississippi and the wild life was so nice. We had a very relaxing Memorial Day weekend. Loved the house and the location. It will be nicer once the river is warmer, then I would be inclined to try kayaking!

House is clean, well furnished, and has amazing views of the river. The yard is big with nice grass, has a fun basketball hoop, a great dock into the river to park a boat, and an easy to driveway to park a boat trailer. The owners have great communication. My family and I had an outstanding stay. Thank you!!!

Our cabin was real spacious for our family of 6. Closed in porch on back of cabin with futon. The deadbolt on porch door would lock you in & out on porch sometimes. Beds were comfortable & bathrooms were nice & clean. Kitchen had a long countertop with cabinets below with plenty of cooking supplies. Opposite of counter was refrigerator, sink, stove, & microwave. There wasn't any food storage in kitchen, only a couple cabinets in laundry/entry room. Air conditioning/ceiling fans kept us comfortable. We had storms the first few days which slowed fishing; but mid week it picked up in the Mississippi. Northern, largemouth & small mouth bass were caught. Soon after our arrival on Sunday morning at 8am a small black bear came running through the backyard. Several squirrels for our pet dog to watch. Painted turtle laid eggs, too! We had fish fry on day before we left. Owner was very responsive to our needs. Location of cabin was close to town. Cabin location for fishing was perfect for river & lake fishing w/o taking taking boat out of water. Great large parking area. We would rent this cabin again!

Very large and impressive yard. Cabin is very functional with a great kitchen space and 3 more than adequate bedrooms. Spent time relaxing, antiquing, and visiting tourist attractions in the Grand Rapids area.

Would totally stay again. Clean and comfy. Quiet river view. Our kiddo loved the beach, I loved having coffee overlooking the quiet river and watching folks harvest wild rice. Love how dog friendly they are 😀 The road gets a bit noisy at times but overall there is a good amount of privacy. Its close to the boat launch and a nice little cruise to Pokegama. Great restaurants in Grand Rapids! Enjoyed 2 Breweries. Our kid loved the basketball hoop and swing too! Happy to have had this place to stay :)

Cabin on river was just as advertised. Very relaxing and private. The large picure windows provided an amazing view of the backyard and river. We even had a visit from a couple of otters.

Another relaxing family vacation. Property is tucked away on the river yet close enough to town and trails. Guest bedrooms are a bit tight for adults but we make it work. Would suggest some sort of pantry or shelving for guests to stash the food we bring for the week. Cabin has spacious living area and kitchen for group of 6 no problem. The porch is great to store coolers and stuff to keep out of the way. We will be back again next year!

This was our second stay here. Property is clean and well maintained. Location is wonderful right on the Mississippi River with access to many area lakes. Close to shopping and area attractions, this is a fabulous vacation spot for everyone in our group.

A hidden gem. This place is tucked away on a quiet part of the Mississippi River that offers peaceful serenity. Even though you’re in town the backyard is quite private. We bring our fishing boat and jet skis and it has a nice dock and beach for those. Fire pit is used every night. Although the exterior is very cabin-like the interior is a nice home that accommodates our adult family, kids/spouses totaling 6. The 2 bedrooms are a bit tight with those sharing the hall bathroom. Hope the downstairs shower is finished by next summer. The new dining table is a nice upgrade and the big island is great for dinner prep and happy hour. Nice bike trails not far as well as a beach. Never even turned on the tv. Host very easy to communicate with. Plan on coming back next year for third time.

Easy communication with owner. Large home for a big group with a big yard for games. Easy to dock boat and nice ride on the Mississippi to Pokegama for fishing/swimming. Boat landing and town with in walking distance. Beautiful view of the river.

The overall place was beautiful. The outside needs some serious work. Meaning the landscaping and yard. Sticks and branches everywhere. There was only one dock that was accessible. In the description it says 2. Totally full of weeds up through the dock itself. Not able to use at all . This place needs alot of TLC

We have been coming to this area in Minnesota for family vacation at a resort for many years. We decided to change it up to a private vrbo rental and were very pleased with what this property offered. Very private backyard didn’t even feel like you were in town. Nice view of very accessible and calm river water that led to other lakes. We set up croquet and bag boards, nice campfire pit with chairs provided and nice dock for our boat and sandbar for our jet skis. Kayaks were a nice bonus as well. Large open space inside cabin for 6 adults. Extra porch nice to kick off shoes and keep coolers out of the way. Did not use futon but mini frig on porch nice to store bait in and keep out of main frig. Bedrooms were a bit tight with extra twins but understandable for a rental. 2 full baths a plus for our group. Not sure anyone even used bathroom downstairs but that was nice to know it was available. Laundry available free to use (no coins) and was another nice bonus. Very nice (super quiet!) Bosch dishwasher in cabin. All appliances were full size. The grill was very nice as well. We found the location perfect to be close to town or a short drive to Grand Rapids for shopping at some favorite stores Discovered some trails to run/bike daily. Also made about an hour+ drive over to Walker for a shopping day and ice cream! Owners very responsive and easy check in. We rebooked for next year as this was such an enjoyable experience.
