I recently stayed at the Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center at National Harbor to celebrate both my birthday and my best friend’s birthday.
I want to start by recognizing the staff, who were extremely friendly, welcoming, and accommodating throughout our stay. Our room was ready ahead of time, which was a pleasant surprise, and we genuinely felt like valued guests during check-in and interactions with the team.
Unfortunately, the room itself did not meet the expectations associated with an upgraded stay. While the view was absolutely beautiful, the overall condition and design of the room were underwhelming. The shower design makes it very difficult to prevent water from getting all over the bathroom floor, which was frustrating. In addition, the ceiling vents appear outdated and there was a large square opening in the ceiling that was quite noticeable and detracted from the overall appearance of the room.
Because this stay was meant to celebrate a special occasion, I was disappointed that the room quality did not match the premium experience I expected when paying for an upgrade. The service was excellent, but the room itself could certainly benefit from updates and better design considerations.
