With 100 feet of frontage on the Flathead River, greenbelt walking trails directly across the street, 200 feet from the river access to launch your canoe, kayak, or inner-tube for floating the river, BIG River Retreat offers you an oasis of peace and quiet. The house is ideally located less than 10 minutes from the airport or beautiful Meadow Lake Golf Resort, 15 minutes to Whitefish, and 20 minutes to Glacier National Park. Walking & biking paths take you to historic downtown Columbia Falls.

This practical yet spacious open layout offers dual zoned heating and air conditioning for each level, making it a perfect vacation spot for multi-generational or more than one family to share. The entire main floor has no steps, wider doors and hallways, lower window openings, a microwave and refrigerator within easy reach, and one bathroom equipped with grab bars and a beautiful roll-in shower, making it easily accessible (not ADA compliant) for those in wheelchairs or experiencing mobility issues.

The home offers a great room with soaring ceilings, a gas fireplace, and a 55" smart TV on swivel wall mounts to make it easy to watch from the open concept space. The stunning kitchen boasts quartz countertops, gorgeous hickory cabinets with soft-closing drawers/doors, and stainless-steel appliances. The large island with extra outlets lets four people work or eat. The custom live-edge coffee bar features a Keurig coffee maker and provides a great place to get that first cup of coffee, cocoa, tea, or hot cereal to start your morning. You can also join the rest of the family at the table with two hidden butterfly leaves, that easily seats 4-10 people, take your breakfast to the stone hearth gas fireplace, or outside on the patio overlooking the river, Swan Mountain Range, firepit, private hot tub, grill, and partially fenced, private backyard.

Both main floor bedrooms boast comfy king-size beds, 55” HD flat-screen TVs, walk-in closets, and adjoining bathrooms. The living room couch offers a comfortable, queen-size, fold-out gel mattress bed. One bedroom even has a home-work station. There is a full-sized gas washer and dryer in the laundry room, also located on this level.

Upstairs, reached by interior or exterior staircase, you'll find two more bedrooms, another shared full bathroom, a second common area, a private covered deck with amazing views of the river and mountains, a 65” HD Smart TV with soundbar, and a gaming system. The wet bar has a regular-sized refrigerator with an ice maker, microwave, slow cooker, and coffee maker, which allows you to enjoy snacks or even full meals on this level. The game/dining table with hidden butterfly leaf accommodates up to 6 people, and the sofa table with USB port and stools offers a place to stay connected with fast speed WIFI or enjoy watching TV while eating breakfast. One bedroom contains a daybed that can be set up as either a king-sized bed or two twin beds. On a clear day, you can even see the peaks of BIG Mountain! This room also has a desk for a dedicated work station with a Smart TV that can be used as an extra monitor for your computer. The bunk room has two sets of bunks- one twin over twin and the other twin over queen-size bed. Down the private exterior stairs, you'll find a small, fully fenced, private side yard with a grill, picnic table, and small grass area for your pooch.

In the winter, the Flathead Valley is famous for its world-class skiing and wide range of winter activities. There are two ski resorts in the area, including the local favorite Whitefish Mountain Resort and the family-friendly Blacktail Mountain Ski Area. Whitefish Mountain Resort was recently ranked #3 in the West by Ski Magazine readers! Visitors to the area can also enjoy ice fishing on Flathead Lake, snowshoeing or cross-country skiing in Glacier National Park, and snowmobiling with one of the local outfitters.

In the summer, enjoy all the water sports imaginable at Flathead Lake, the largest freshwater lake west of the Mississippi in the lower 48! Glacier National Park is also close by with the breathtaking Going-To-The-Sun Road, Lake McDonald, and 70+ day hikes! Make sure you take time to experience downtown Bigfork, boasting shops, galleries, restaurants, and the Bigfork Summer Playhouse. There are activities for everyone from hiking the Swan River Nature Trail, exploring the Jewel Basin Wilderness Area, fishing the many lakes & rivers, or golfing at any of the exceptional courses, including Eagle Bend Golf Course.
