”This place and town were HEAVEN. I was doing a solo trip just to escape for a little bit, plus to see a show at the Lyceum and I wasn't disappointed. The house was cozy, the bed comfortable and I had everything I needed. The overall vibe of the town was absolute quiet. It was bliss. Don't miss going to Catalpa (on Main street) - I stopped in after the theatre crowd was leaving and had an absolutely elevated dining experience. Liz (owner and chef) is amazing. ”We came to Hermann for my brother in laws birthday and this house was perfect for three adults for a weekend. The bed was comfortable and there was plenty of room. The place was clean and the back patio was cute and a nice place to hang out. The AC worked excellent, we were comfortable the entire stay. It was walking distance to some shops and a couple bars. The taxi picked us up right at the door. Overall, if you have a smaller group I would recommend this property and would definitely stay...

”The Black Magnolia was the perfect retreat/getaway! The house, impeccably clean, is centrally located and within walking distance to all the town sights and restaurants. Should you choose to take the trolly to the wineries, it picks up at the front door! The home is far enough away from the train tracks, you don’t hear the hustling of the cars or the warning horn. ”Had a great stay! It was located very close to downtown on a quiet street. Very close to a playground for the kids too. I would not plan on cooking much there as it only has the basics, but it’s stocked enough for simple things. Also would bring a carbon monoxide detector- we didn’t see one but had our own. ”

The owner, Scott could not be any friendlier or accommodating. He goes out of his way to make our stay as comfortable as possible and is very quick to respond to any requests or questions. ”The house was located up a winding drive and a tree had fallen across the road. Called the hosts and they were there within 15 mins with a chainsaw to clear the way!! The house was very clean and they thought about numerous little things one might need... qtips, hair ties, neosporin, coffee, tiny sewing kit etc. Kitchen was stocked with all the basic appliances and dishes you'd need to make any home cooked meal. The home is older and doesn't have central heat or air but lots of window a/C units...
