Arrived around 6pm. Given room key without any directions. Room located on 3rd floor. Had to use stairs. I’m 74. Asked where to park, told in the back. My room was at the absolute opposite end of the hotel from the back. Had to wander back and forth down endless hallways, Room looked like it was used for odds and ends. Mattress was not comfortable. ONLY SAVING GRACE FOR THIS HOTEL WAS A LOVELY, STAFF WOMAN WHO MANAGED THE BREAKFAST BUFFET. I asked EMILIA if she liked working there. She said yes, she had been there 27 years off and on. I asked if people were nice, she said yes. I went on to tell her about my experience, she was so sweet, so sorry I had such an experience. She said it’s usually not like my experience. Whatever pay EMILIA is receiving, it’s not enough. Sometimes it just takes good training to improve. Corporate could reduce executive pay and improve budget and salaries in order to get/keep good employees.
