Nauti kauniista näkymistä Erie-järvelle! Tämä 1930-luvun mökki istuu rannalla, josta on näkymät järvelle ja joka tarjoaa poikkeuksellisen rentouttavan kaupungin elämän hälinästä. Rentoudu kuuntelemalla aaltoja tai katsomalla järven rahtialuksia yöllä.

Alue on täynnä viehätystä, hauskaa ja luontoa: kaksi läheistä satamaa, kauniita puistoja ja rantoja, 19 katettua siltaa, golf, lintujen kuumia paikkoja, luonnonkaunis näköala, historialliset kahdeksankulmaiset talot, 24 viinitilat ja monet ravintolat - omituinen rento hienoon ruokailuun.

Olemme uusia VRBO: lle, mutta älä huoli, et tule pettymään. Mökki ja isännät ovat palvelleet kymmeniä onnellisia vieraita uudelleen vuonna 2018. Siitä lähtien monet vieraat ovat palanneet kaksi tai kolme kertaa, kun he aikovat palata takaisin. Mikään ei puhu kovempaa kuin toista liiketoimintaa.
Vuosikymmenten ajan tämä mökki on varattu kiinteäksi vakituisilla varauksilla. Vieraiden ja omistajan ikääntyessä kiinteistö pysyi hyvässä kunnossa, mutta sitä ei koskaan pidetty kaupan ja käyttö vähentynyt. Olemme innoissamme siitä, että voimme aloittaa tämän erityisen paikan jakamisen uudelleen.

Sähkö- ja putkistot on päivitetty kokonaan; lämmitys ja jäähdytys ovat uusia. Suunnittelun myötä jotkut alkuperäiset kalusteet säilyvät alkuperäisen viehätyksen ja luonteen ylläpitämiseksi. Joissakin tapauksissa voi olla vähän liikaa luonnetta, kun pyrimme palauttamaan joitakin kappaleita entiseen loistoonsa. Prosessi vie aikaa, mutta tila on rauhallinen ja mukava lyömättömällä näkymällä.

Mikä Goldfinch Cottage voi puuttua kiillotuksessa, se korvaa viehätyksensä. Vieraamme löytävät sen ihana vastalääke liian tavalliselle steriilille ja ennustettavalle majoitukselle - ja he kertovat meille, että myös isännät ovat hyviä! :)

We spent a long weekend at the cottage on our first trip to Lake Erie with an 8 year-old and 7 month-old in tow. This cottage was in a quiet location yet only a minute away from a great park and beach area with free parking. I loved the charm of the old cottage and spent a lot of time taking in the view of the lake from the screened in porch. It was clean and the host was great with communicating with us. We would definitely stay here again. It provided for a relaxing trip for us.

Good but not great, cute but not charming

I have sent a very long email to the owner, Rick, about all the problems we had at Canary Cottage. There were things we loved about the place and things that he thinks are “lack of polish,” “charm,” and keeping original character, but in reality are simply run down and needing repaired/replaced. The location and view of Lake Erie is amazing but there is no direct access to the water and no barrier to keep anyone from falling down the steep bank. This could be dangerous for children. There is no dishwasher, no central AC (one large wall unit,) no awnings/gutters/downspouts, no driveway or sidewalk to the front door (because of all the rain the front yard was a swamp,) limited workspace, and too few utensils. The microwave blows out a breaker every time it is turned on – the breaker box is behind the flower picture. The bathtub is so bad that I didn’t even want to stand in it, and clean towels are left out in the open near cooking odors. The hot water tank was not turned on, and the kerosene heater is a fire hazard that should be removed as the electric heater does a great job of heating the porch. We did not see eagles, but we did watch bulk carrier ships pass by. Go see the covered bridges – they are fascinating and each is unique in style. Go to the beautiful public park and beach a mile north and walk the brand new boardwalk, continue to the observation deck. You will have to drive to Ashtabula or Erie to eat out as we only found a few pizza places, McD, and DQ in town.

Great property

We had a great time at the cabin. Right on the lake with beautiful views and everything we needed, and the property manager kept in touch making sure everything was good. Highly recommend and we hope to visit again.

Perfect weekend getaway

Walked in the front door and gasped at the Lake Erie view. Outside, you can hear the waves and watch numerous birds, including bald eagles, fly right by. Rick and his dad are attentive and thoughtful hosts. My husband loves to swim and Rick forwarded lake temperatures ahead of our visit! Public beach is but a mile away. We will be back!

Beautiful view!

I look forward to this weekend all year and it never disappoints! The view is EVERYTHING! Clean, comfortable cottage lacks nothing. New friends made at the park’s beach and a visit with our known friend, Mr. Ross. I highly recommend this little cottage!

Wonderful, quiet getaway

What a lovely getaway spot! This little house has spectacular views of the lake, and it relaxes you just to sit on the enclosed porch and listen to the waves lap. This place is a throwback to lake cabins of my childhood - not fancy, but very comfortable - except, I should note, with really good wifi for computers and streaming TV. Rick and his dad were super responsive when I asked anything and very unobtrusive the rest of the time, and both check-in and check-out were a breeze. Thanks for a relaxing weekend away.

Cozy quiet cottage with an amazing view of Lake Erie

We volunteered at D-Day event and rented this place due to location. It was nice to be able to walk to the the park and then come back to the cozy cottage. Nice screened in back porch to sit and watch the waves of Lake Erie. The owner looked up the weather, sent the idea of walking to park, had the greatest greeter to welcome us, and had water and treats waiting for us. Couldn’t ask for a better host! The personal details were very thoughtful. Highly recommend and would definitely stay again!

Cottage with beautiful view of the lake

We enjoyed our stay at this cottage. It was comfortable enough for the 4 of us. We had a beautiful view of Lake Erie, very relaxing. The neighborhood beach was a few minute drive and was clean and not overly crowded. The cottage was close to various places to eat. Rick and his father were lovely hosts who were very welcoming and accommodating. We would definitely book here again.

A peaceful retreat

My 90 year-old mother-in-law wanted to spend some time watching the lake. This was perfect. The cottage is comfortable and homey. It was a little cool for sitting in the backyard, but the enclosed back porch was perfect. We spent out mornings roaming around Ashtabula County in search of covered bridges and quilt barns. Then home in the afternoons to paint and talk. It was wonderful.

Lake Erie Quintessential, Cozy Cottage Tranquility

Rick, Amy, and Rick's dad Dick are superb host! This cozy cottage has a spectacular Lake Erie view! At night we roasted marshmallows over the fire pit and spoiled ourselves with s'mores....all with a picture perfect lake view under the stars. Rick's dad overwhelmed us by giving us red roses to celebrate our 39th wedding anniversary! Wow!!!

Gem on the Lake

Just going out of town for a while and the cottage was perfect. Homey and warm it was a cozy spot for a mini getaway. The weather was cold and gray but the lake was beautiful. Next time we hope to use the fire pit that was provided. They also had wood for us too, but the weather was temperamental. Very enjoyable little spot. Only wish it had a bit more counter space, but we go creative. The views were amazing and worth the drive. Thanks.

Perfect little getaway!

We had the best time in this cute little cottage! We came up for a mini birding trip and wow, it delivered!! Rick gave us some hot spots to go to and we saw some really cool stuff there. Rick's dad is so kind and adorable. Rick was very helpful with maps and places to go. I wish we didn't have to leave, it was so enjoyable and peaceful. Truly everything that we wanted. The restaurants nearby were delicious. Very large portions at the squirrel place for anyone reading this. And I highly recommend going to the winery that used to be a church! Overall one of the best trips I've ever been on and we can't wait to come back!!
