Heaven
Couldn’t have been more impressed! Absolutely loved the house and everything it has to offer. Having everything thing we needed while being away from the public was a dream. My children and dog absolutely loved the creek and being able to enjoy the forest while us adults enjoyed the break from technology and being able to slow down a bit. Can’t wait to return!

Off the grid dream
This property is an off the grid HEAVEN!! You start by entering through a beautiful glass hobbit style door. You find a whimsical cabin that is fully stocked with literally anything and everything you might need or want. The skylights in the bedrooms mixed with the swinging beds and the sound of the creek outside your windows makes you feel like you are sleeping in the trees. The falls are a short distance away and beautiful. The river was fun to fish (we ate fresh steelhead one night!) The wood burning stove is cozy and warm and heats the entire place. There is a TV with plenty of movies but we chose to be screen free. The circular staircase wrapped around a tree and the suspension hallway is gorgeous. It is the perfect place to escape, relax and recharge. Thank you for creating and sharing it with the world!

Happily surprised with stocked organic coffee, foil, garbage bags etc. not common in rentals these days. It’s obvious the hosts care about the property and the people who rent. No complaints. Beautiful property, quirky fun cabin with an obvious creative DIY plan and touch. Watched ducky waddle butts and piglets on the road. Saw eagles, numerous impressive hawks, donkeys, elk, geese, does, fawns, bucks etc. Absolutely loved that it has no Wi-Fi or cell service. Disconnect here if you like quarks, wildlife, moss, the sound is running water and living like we used too (no dumb phone service or internet!) We will return. Also loved Loved the story about the build out of the property as well. Congratulations to you both! Thanks so much. -The Jenkinsons and our friends.

Beautiful place
Unfortunately we were not able to stay at the property for a couple reason of which were no fault of the owner, I must say Shane is wonderful to work with, the place is very nice, secluded and has a warm feeling. Do yourself a favor and try to get to the property before dark just to make finding it a little easier, We will definately give this beautiful home another try next time in the area.

Mother's Day Getaway
This home is the perfect place to get off the grid, relax and recharge. Being on the hanging beds feels like being on a slow moving porch swing while gazing at the stars above through the multiple skylights. Swinging in the oversized hammock, sitting by the fire pit or reading in the super comfy living room chairs while hearing the soothing stream takes you back to a simpler time. The house is also the closest home to the water falls which are well worth the short drive and easy hike.

Fantastic
This place is amazing! After a loooong trip from Portland we were so happy to settle down at the cabin for two nights. It was not enough. Getting there is no joke! I was beginning to regret going that far off grid but we all agreed is was worth it. Being without WI Fi was very hard because I had to drive 15 minutes on a winding road to the post office to send emails and check in with my work/ pet sitter. The sound of the river was so relaxing. The bed linens are really good! We cooked the entire time. And they had lots of spices. I even used some of their stuff to complete my recipe! The water falls were so close and easy hike from car (one mile)

This house is one of the coolest I have ever been to. The sounds of the river was like a dream. And the falls are absolutely beautiful. On the short hike to the falls we experienced snow, lightning, hale in various sizes, rain, and the sun came out for a few minutes, it was an experience to remember forever.

Winter Solitude Below the Falls
Below the Falls Lodge was everything I was hoping for. The description is spot on and we had a great adventure between Christmas and New Year's Eve. We arrived a few hours before a classic Oregon Coast Storm took the power out but still made the most of the trip. The lodge was equipped to handle such situations but unfortunately didn't get to enjoy the excellent little sauna until the power came back on the last 3 hours of the trip. Such a unique design, and the location is what it is all about. Excellent communication from the owner and helpful information posted around the house. Hopefully can come back some day when the electricity is on, but being without was actually quite relaxing with the wood stove radiating dry warmth as the rain and rushing river were singing outside. Very cool home, wonderful location and experience.

Lovely Winter solstice Retreat

Otherworldly experience
If you are looking to travel to a different planet, this is the place. Marvel at the mist zephyrs during a rainstorm. Relax in the warm and well appointed lodge, start a wood fire in the living room stove and then make your favorite comfort food the the legendarily equipped kitchen. Then rock yourself to sleep to the sounds of the babbling brook while you relax in the suspended beds upstairs under the skylights. If your lucky the resident Bald Eagle may join you for coffee the next morning. The Lodge will leave you with fond memories a sense of “what the hell don’t we live here!!”

Very peaceful
Quiet woodsy setting, one of a kind home, beautiful stream passes the house. It fit us perfectly. We visited the falls up stream about a mile, and silver falls was incredible!!

Wonderful Get Away
If you want a remote getaway near bikes and waterfalls and fishing, this is a wonderful choice. The drive there should be done during the daytime as the are some steep drop offs off the edge of the fairly narrow roads. This is not a property in the Coos Bay area. The property is well stocked and has a sauna and hammock and a lodge feel to it.

Unbelievable and off the grid
Unbelievable and off the grid. This place was so amazing put a 10 year old kid didn’t ask for a computer a TV or an Internet for an entire week. The house itself and its owner / builder are amazing but the location is even better. The stream is Idealic the Hamic is awesome everything about it was wonderful especially the fact that it’s 20 minutes away from any cellular service or Internet connection there’s not even a satellite TV my son and I fished the creek in the morning Then mom and the dog join us for a swim in the afternoon And we hiked up to Silver and Gold Falls every evening before dinner which were equally as amazing I can’t wait to go back

Peaceful
It was so nice to be disconnected. This house was stocked with so much more than we had expected. We loved being able to prepare our meals, and not travel to a restaurant. They even had marshmallow skewers! My only suggestion is to bring a recipe book with you if you don't have it memorized (No looking it up on your phone). Beautiful views, quiet and no people around. Was definitely the relaxing getaway we needed. Thank you.

Beautiful atmospheric house
We had a wonderful stay at Below the Falls Lodge. With the rushing river water as our soundtrack, we completely enjoyed just relaxing of this amazingly designed house. Despite the constant rain during our visit, the house was warm and cozy with the sauna and the wood fire stove. Our excursion to the Falls was awesome as we got to see them running at full capacity with the Spring rains and snowmelt. The lack of internet and cell service was refreshing. Highly recommended.

Beautiful, serene getaway!
This spot on the water is beautiful! The house is eclectic, charming and fun. We loved sitting around the fire pit in the evenings listening to the water. The house had everything that we needed. We learned a lot about the locals, and the surrounding area, from some of the available books we found. The proximity to the waterfalls is very convenient, and we enjoy the day exploring them. The house definitely feels like a magical spot and we would love to stay again.

Gorgeous Home!
What a wonderful place to get away and feel like you’re in the middle of nowhere, with all of the comforts of home. My husband and I had such a great stay at this amazing home. We loved how nature is worked into the home; it’s like it is a part of the land. With the trees, laboradite counters, clay walls with fossils throughout, the indoor plants, & every little detail… it felt magical! It WAS magical! We were so impressed with this place! Oh, I can’t forget the beds! They’re suspended from the ceiling, so you can slowly rock yourself to sleep with the windows cracked open to hear the nearby creek. This is definitely a gem of a home. Thank you for sharing it with the world!

Most Magical Get-Away
This cabin truly is a work of art, built by an extremely talented designer and woodworker. What magic! A place of fantastic dreams for children and adults alike. What wonder to climb the circular staircase to sleep in beds hung from the rafters to the soothing sound of the creek running full, right under our feet! Unmatched scenery and great retreat place since no internet or cell phone service. Great for the heart, soul and family. Open layout of cabin with kitchen island was a hit with the in-house chef. Heavenly Retreat
We traveled from Groveland California to spend a week with our friends from Snohomish Washington. We were all looking forward to getting away from the constant connection to the world and just spending time catching up with each other. It was heaven from the moment we arrived to the day we left. We loved the hobbit house, great idea and a perfect fit for the beautiful surrounding environment. House was a perfect size for two couples and loved how it was decorated. Kitchen was perfect and had everything we needed to prepare some wonderful meals. We did not use the video room but appreciated the option. Some have commented on the lack of WIFI, we loved not having connection to the outside world. Don't let this stop you from staying at this home, embrace it and enjoy it. We were all concerned about the swinging beds but that ended the first night. We loved them so much, the sway was so relaxing. We slept with the windows open and fell asleep each evening to the sounds of the wind in the trees and the trickling creek. Having two master suites was the icing on the cake. The property is spectacular and we very much enjoyed spending time down at the creek or just sitting around enjoying the surroundings. Finished a good book under the trees. We did venture to the falls and even though there was not much water was still beautiful to see. It is worth the easy trek to them . We highly recommend this home and we look forward to our return. We enjoyed ourselves immensely! We were very close to excellent hiking trails and beautiful views at Golden and Silver Falls. We primarily wanted peace and quiet and that's what we got. The lodge is beautifully crafted with lots of thought to window placement and bringing the outdoors in. Would stay there again in a heartbeat.

Property and house were accurately described. This was a fun detour from a week!
Super fun whimsical house. Very well stocked with all kinds of cooking gadgets. Tons of pillows and blankets, great fireplace and we could hear the sound of the River all night while staring through the skylights at the stars. Prepare to be off the beaten track without internet or cell service. It was magical!!

Amazing getaway from reality
My girlfriend and I had an extremely pleasant stay. Everything was more than we could've asked for. The place looked amazing in the photos and looked even more amazing in person! It's so nice having the sound of the creek right behind the house. It's so nice and peaceful here. I still dream about the hanging beds! It was so comfortable and something I want to make happen down the road to have one of my own. Relaxing in the sauna was a great way to relax. Beware that this house is far down the road so make sure you have some gas in your tank before you leave the town. Having the waterfalls so close was incredible. It's so nice and peaceful here and both my girlfriend and I had a lot of fun disconnecting from reality for most of the time we were there (with the exception of going into town once). The only thing that was a little bit weird was in the welcome book it mentioned to vacuum the floors, clean the kitchen and start a load of laundry for the bed sheets before checking out. That was something I've never experienced before when checking out of a place. Despite the cleaning rules, it's well worth the visit and we would go back again!

Amazing property off the beaten path
The house is beautifully and artistically designed with high grade appliances and thoughtful attention to every detail. We enjoyed hiking at the falls, fishing in the stream, doing puzzles, watching old movies and cooking gourmet meals together. It is 22 miles to town on a beautiful road, so we only went in for one birthday dinner. There is no cable or tv connection (although the neighbors appear to have DTV) and internet is dial up by request only (not something I expected when internet was advertised, but perhaps I didn’t read the ad carefully enough) We had a lovely time, but my husband was ready to connect with the world again after 3 nights, while the rest of us found the time extremely relaxing and rejuvenating! Again a beautiful home!

This is the 2nd time that I've brought my children here. I was a bit worried that at their current age, the lack of wifi would be an issue. Honestly, they never noticed. It's a perfect oasis nestled in perfect nature. We'll deffinatly be back!!

A Blissful Escape
The long drive was well worth our 4 night stay here. Shane was super helpful. The river was perfect for our 3 little kids. We did all the waterfall hikes and loved them. No internet (thank you!). Best part was evenings by the fire.
