Totten Lake Lodge - Dreamy Desert A-Frame
This 1970s A-Frame was recently remodeled by Dallas-based “Designs by Jim & Cody”.
The home is set on 3 acres of sage brush and pinon trees perfectly isolated from the city lights and main roads. The lake and mountain views from the deck are breathtaking and the night sky is unmatched.

-BEDS & BATHS-
The home can comfortably sleep up to 10 guests. The master loft includes a king sized bed and an ensuite bathroom with a walk in shower, and a reading nook that overlooks the living space. The other two bedrooms share a bathroom on the main floor.
-KITCHEN & DINING-
The kitchen includes an electric cooktop, double-oven, fridge, freezer, and dishwasher, and the drawers are stocked with dishes and utensils. There’s also a coffee maker so you can get your morning caffeine fix.
Set against the impressive high desert backdrop, the dining table seats 6, and the outdoor dining table is also just steps away.
-LIVING SPACE-
From the living room, the breath taking view is on full display due to soaring walls of glass and ceilings reaching over 22 feet tall. The living room has a couch and two arm chairs, perfect for conversation by the stunning 1970s brick fireplace.
-BASEMENT-
Although you might be tempted to forgo technology during your stay, the basement has a 75 inch TV so you can stream your favorites, and a large family style couch that sleeps two. Downstairs you will also find a full sized pool table, dart board, a stone fireplace and lots of our personal favorite games.
Washer and dryer are available for any laundry needs.
-OUTDOOR SPACE-
There are two separate outdoor dining areas on the deck for you to enjoy. You may even be visited by come local desert wildlife. After a day of activities a full sized hot tub and bon fire invites guests to soak in the magic of the starry desert nights.
The property is partially fenced so you can bring your approved furry friends.

The property is equipped with WiFi, heating, and two window units.

I absolutely loved staying here
This A frame house is one of the coolest places I’ve ever stayed. I honestly wish we spent more time there. It’s decorated beautifully and is kept up so well. Super clean and comfortable and the view of the lake was the icing on the cake.
We stayed here so we could go to Mesa Verde and it was the perfect location to do so. It’s also close to town. I totally recommend staying here.

Great place to visit
We stayed here so we could be near Mesa Verde NP and it was such a nice home with so many amenities. Loved the deck hot tub. Enjoyed both nights out there stargazing.
Very nicely decorated and cozy feeling. Beds were comfortable and view was fantastic.

Great stay
Pictures don’t do justice to this lovely a-frame in Cortez. The sunset views from the porch and hot tub were perfect. Close to town and ten minutes to Mesa Verde.

Perfect Central location for a Fly Fishing Trip
This place was just as advertised. It is not a looker from the outside but, it was really nice on the inside. This place was a perfect central hub for a fly fishing adventures in S. Colorado. I would recommend this place to anyone.
Note: As an outdoor enthusiast, 4 large bucks walking into the yard while drinking coffee on the porch was what probably set it over the top...

Perfectly peaceful
Great home with beautiful views of the lake and surrounding San Juan countryside. House was clean, beds comfortable, and the amenities perfect to come home to after running around all day seeing the sites. Would definitely stay here again!

Totten Lake getaway
This was a great house, fantastic location between Mesa Verde NP and Cortez. Very quiet area, beautiful sunsets and star gazing. The house has a great basement/rec room with a pool table and space for the kids to hang out and a nice “living” area that was good for conversation. Bedrooms were comfy and well laid out, our four year old grandson loved the trundle bed. All of this said, I think a deep clean might be in order, the double ovens need a scrub and there was a bit of dust all over.
Outside, we loved the hot tub, perfect place to watch the sun set and there’s a small table placed perfectly for morning sun and afternoon shade! The deck overall needs some boards replaced here and there but we had a great time, got good rest and would definitely stay here again!

Mesa Verde family trip
Our stay was very good. The hot tub had a malfunction but the host was super easy to reach and got the tub repaired the next day. It was very enjoyable to sit in and enjoy the stars. The house was comfortable and plenty large for our family of 5. Would stay here again happily!
