”Loved the hotel and restaurant, such a beautiful building and rooms, outside lovely too, with croquet, giant chess and hoopla. Food was very nice, we had evening meal and breakfast. Staff friendly and attentive too. We’re definitely coming back. Fab location.”

For those who are looking for air con, instant internet etc it probably is not for you but for the rest of us who like quirky, individual and very English it a 10. 2 best points are the staff who are quiet frankly brilliant, helpful, kind , funny and friendly and efficient. And the food which is great , the Grill serves unpretentious good dinners , reasonably priced wines and superb puddings . The breakfast...

”Such a lovely hotel. The room (10) had a big wow factor. I forgot we were in a chain - the hotel and room have a proper boutique feel to them. I honestly can’t fault a thing about our stay and have already recommended to friends. ”

”Friendly staff. The hotel and our room were very clean and comfortable. Nice Spa and pool area. I enjoyed a relaxing spa treatment and would recommend. We had a lovely stay and would definitely return if in the area.”

”Lovely hotel with beautiful rooms and accommodations. The room and bathroom were extremely large and beautifully appointed. We ate at the restaurant one evening and the food and ambiance was great. We will definitely stay here again when we return!”

”Even though the main down stairs wasn’t open due to reverb we had a lovely time of the terrace bar. Rooms were amazing and so beautifully accommodating for dogs. Only thing we would say is the staff didn’t clear the tables quickly so a lot of messy tables but over al we can’t wait to come back, thank you ”
