I want to start by saying that I love Cuscoâthis city is incredible, and absolutely worth visiting. But my experience at Rhouse was disappointing not because of the cold or minor inconveniences, but because of how the staff handled our discomfort.
The room was freezing at night, and thereâs no central heatingâonly a single small plug-in heater, which wasnât enough for two people. I politely asked for a second heater. The response? A flat âno.â No explanation. No attempt to help. Just âno.â
It was only after I said I would leave a review that they suddenly said, âActually, we can bring you another heater.â That moment told me everything I needed to know about their approach to service. Itâs not about guest comfortâitâs about protecting their image.
I wasnât even planning to leave a review at all, despite the cold, the lack of hot water, or the weak Wi-Fiâall of which were mentioned in previous reviews. I was willing to let it go. But what I can't ignore is how they chose not to help until they felt pressured publicly.
This isnât about amenitiesâitâs about how you treat people. They couldâve done better, and they chose not to. Thatâs what guests should really be aware of.
Cusco is amazing. Just be thoughtful about where you stay.
