Qiz Qalashi Hotel was everything we asked for and the distance to Formula 1 entrance is super close. We sat at Mugham entrance, would recommend for people attending the race!

”Absolutely great hotel in great area if the great city. Stayed with my wife and friends 7 nights, had a great experience, paid $95 per night per room, with fantastic sea view from balcony, all toiletries, free water, tea, teapot, iron, everything you need. Was impressed with reception staff, they speak at least three languages including Azerbaijani, English, and Russian. ”We had such a wonderful time in this hotel and in Baku overall. The room was the most spacious I have ever seen. Huge bathroom, huge balcony. The kids loved the bunk bed. The furnishings all over the hotel was impecable, providing a very comfortable staying. The food at dinner time was delicious. On the down side, I would mention the breakfast is served on a la carte basis. I would have preferred to have a buffet option instead, but maybe this is the norm in Baku. I would definitely recommend...

”Oikein ystävällinen palvelu. Sain merinäköalan ja oman terassin. Hissiä ei ole ylempään kerrokseen mutta ei haitannut. Aamupalan saa pyydettäessä ja se on hyvä ja riittävä. Huone siistitin joka päivä. Kaikkiaan suositeltava pieni hotelli vanhassa kaupungissa hiljaisella kadulla. Kaikki lähellä mm. hyviä ruokapaikkoja.”

”Excellent location in the Old City. If possible book the signature room with a view to the Maiden Tower. Good service, comfortable, spacious rooms and good though monotonous breakfast. Maybe a good idea to give some of the staff a crash course in English”

”Everything about this wonderful hotel situated in the heart of the Old City in Baku can be recommended. The staff were all very warm, friendly, most helpful, and professional. We were able to return from exploring and discovering the many beautiful sites of Azerbaijan back to the comfort of a lovely room – with balcony – overlooking the cobbled streets of the City.”
”Nice and clean hotel just outside of the Old Town, perfect location to everywhere. Clean and comfortable room, although it’s dark as there is a window which is painted and cannot see through. Toilet works badly.
Super disappointed with the breakfast as there is nothing (not even the will) to cater people with allergies. If you have allergies or intolerances, you end up hungry. Canned goods. Also level of English spoken was loooww, if not taken the reception into account.”

On the first night we called room service and asked for some water bottles. We waited for 40 minutes and nothing happened. Called them again, and they said "call zero". Well the phone did not connect anywhere when I pressed 0 but in the end used the "congierce" button. They brought us water very quickly, so all was well in the end, but it was extra hassle and wait.
The next day I went for coffee on the 2nd floor cafe. I grabbed one of the salads from the take away shelf with label "beetroot and goat cheese with balsamic". As they served the salad to me, there was no dressing, no cheese in it. Just veggies. So I asked the waitress, she made some calls and said they do not have any goat cheese but they can bring me some local cheese. Which they did, after about 10 minutes. Again, in the end I got the cheese and vinegrette and all was fine. But if I had taken that salad with me to another location to eat (it was take away, after all) I would have felt conned for paying for a goat cheese salad without any cheese. "
