Relaxing getaway
This house was perfect for a few days of relaxing! Plenty of beach in front and a nice private driveway and parking area, which was a nice bonus! The house itself is updated and well kept. Everything was very clean. Thank you for opening your beautiful home!

Great beachfront stay!
We loved our trip to Dauphin Island and our stay here. We were beachfront, steps away from the water. The house was perfect! I love that the beaches are much less crowded here.

Great Family Beach House
I was highly impressed and very satisfied with the location and the beach house itself. The pictures listed are very accurate as to what it looks like. It was very clean, comfortable and spacious for my family of five. I loved that it was right on the beach. We saw dolphins swimming in front of the home each day. The house was very well stocked and maintained. It had everything we needed for our week long stay. I will definatley be booking this home again next year for our beach vacation. Dauphin Island is a great quite family friendly place and the best beach that I've traveled to.

Beach trip with friends
Ideal beach front rental for a week long stay. Our time was divided between reading while sitting on the long covered porch, gazing at the unobstructed view of the Gulf of Mexico, swimming in the warm, gentle waves and walking the soft, white sandy beach. The two king size bedrooms, one on the main floor and another on the second floor, provided plenty of privacy for two couples. We didn't use the third bedroom or bunk beds, all great options if needed for more guests. The kitchen was well stocked with dishes, pots and pans and an outside gas grill. We suggest bringing groceries for home cooked meals since the restaurant offerings were limited and expensive.

Overall, nice property. The kitchen faucet needs replaced, as it drips if not turned off in right position. Outside lights are not turtle friendly. Loved having a private driveway!

Fantastic location for a family trip to one of our favorite paces! Right on the beach and the decks in each floor were a really nice feature. Lots of room and a good layout for a family or large group of friends. Will rent again.

We really enjoyed our stay here! It was perfect for our family. Having beach toys and chairs available was so nice. The grill wouldn’t light for us, but other than that, everything was great.

Beautiful and perfect location
Overall, this house was wonderful! For those in our group who were TV nuts, the TVs had issues. Not able to watch much downstairs due to having to have an Xfinity password which we didn’t have. The big TV upstairs kept turning off. Otherwise, I loved it so much!

Great place
This home was accurately represented in picture and description. And Dauphin Island is a great place for a more low key beach vacation. It was so nice to walk out from the house to the shore, and to not be shoulder to shoulder with other vacationers.

Beach trip
Pros: This house was located directly on the beach with great views of the ocean!!! We couldn't have asked for a nicer location and the house was perfect for our family. My husband and I and our 3 children, along with my brother and his wife, and our mother all went and had just enough space. There is an outside shower that was great to have. It was not enclosed to it had warm and cold water, perfect to wash all the sand off after a day at the beach. We saw several dolphins daily. The kitchen had pretty much any thing we needed to use. Cons: The living room was a tad small and the furniture was not comfortable at all. The beds (especially the king mattresses) were SO hard! We could not get anything on the TVs unless we purchased movies or subscriptions to whatever cable service they had.

Perfect for a Family
You couldn’t ask for a better house for a family. Our kids had plenty of space upstairs and my wife and I had our privacy in the downstairs master. The home was very clean when we arrived, and some basic supplies were available. The kitchen had everything we needed in terms of hardware for meals. VACASA communicated with us well when we had questions or needs, but otherwise it felt like our home. Very happy, we’ll be back!

Nearly perfect in every way
We loved Sweet Home Alabama. The location could not have been any better. The layout of the house was perfect for our family. The kids felt like the had a mini apartment upstairs. The house was exactly as described, and filled with amenities. My biggest issue with the property was that all the coffee tables and end tables were glass top, and I was terrified they would get broken 😂 Book your visit at Sweet Home Alabama. You won’t regret it!

Relaxed beach week
The house was set up well with bunk beds for my kids and a master suite upstairs and downstairs. Great location right on the beach with unobstructed views. The patios are nice and big with plenty of seating. The only problem came when our entire family was on the upstairs patio deck and we got locked out (the door lock appeared loose and the door closed shut even though the latch was in the locked position.) Luckily our neighbors came and helped us, but if our front door was locked it would have been quite an ordeal. Overall a great week!

Absolutely Perfect
We enjoyed our stay at Sweet Home Alabama and Dauphin Island, it was absolutely perfect. The property had everything we needed to enjoy the beach, water, deck and house. Kitchen was well stocked. Very clean. I would bring beach towels if you prefer them to the white bath towels on the sand but otherwise no complaints We can’t wait to visit Dauphin Island again.

Not comfortable and overpriced
The kitchen wasn’t clean. There were Cheerios and some other gunk stuck on the wall behind the trash, wet plates stacked in the cabinet, dirty glasses and pots. I had to wash everything by hand before using anything. The couch cushions were sticky and stained. The beds were uncomfortable. And there is a colony of birds living in the subfloor of the house! Crazy loud. Given this, it is understandable why the nightly rate is low-ish considering it is literally on the beach but once all of the extra fees and taxes were included our nightly rate was double what was advertised. At that price, I should’ve chosen a 5 star hotel.

Great place and an almost private beach, although contact with manager was not possible
The house was very clean and well stocked, from kitchenware to beach toys, except for coffee, there was no coffee nor coffee filters. Overall, we did enjoy our time there. My only minor dislike is that I never got a reply from the property manager. I first asked about toiletries and beach towels before arrival, for planning purposes. I asked using the vrbo. Then the property management system sent a txt requesting me to install a new app. I don't like this. We did all through vrbo, yet we needed to download yet another app? During our stay we were trying to get clarification on whether bonfires are allowed in the beach, we tried texting to the phone number we were getting communications and we never heard back.

A lovely and laid back stay!
We had the best time at Sweet Home Alabama. The house is immaculately clean with all the items that you might need including lots of towels, household appliances, beach chairs, sand toys etc. We loved being right on the beach and having that beautiful view from both decks. The little one had a blast in the sand and surf. We enjoyed long walks on the beach and watching the sunset. A very relaxing and laid back vacation - exactly what we needed! The property manager is easily reached and proactive. Thank you!

Before School Starts Get-Away
We had an amazing time here. Steps to the beach, whenever we felt like going down, and the outside shower is perfect for rinsing off after. Beautiful and quiet location. Watch dolphins right from the porch! The beds were a little firm, but you're so exhausted from all the fresh sea air you pass right out! House is stocked with pretty much anything you need...plus plenty of beach toys, umbrellas, etc. Would definitely stay again, if we get to the area!

This home is clean and well kept. The lay out was very comfortable. The upstairs bonus room area was great for kids. Our family especially loved eating dinner on the second story deck! The view is high and beautiful. The location of the home on the island is perfect. Very quiet as far as traffic and other people. Our son especially loved the extra sand toys. We can’t wait to come back.

Weekend family getaway
Thank you so much for an amazing weekend! I just want to say I loved everything about this house! The layout, the location, the decor. Many times during our trip I would say I wished I lived there. We had a family get together with kids 3 years old up to 11. And 5 adults. I really liked that one bedroom was on a separate floor than the others. The space was perfect! Being right on the beach was amazing. And on days that the gulf side was too rough we just crossed the street and played on the much calmer bay side. The outdoor shower was a big help and the sand area under the house came in handy to get out of the sun. They had everything you can think to cook with. And toys for the beach. I would definitely come back again.

We loved our stay!
We were pleasantly surprised by "Sweet Home Alabama", the home was much larger than we anticipated. It was VERY well stocked....towels, kitchens supplies, bed linens. It was clean and cozy. The spot was perfect! Not many people around and plenty of beach for the kids to run and play. The kids loved the room upstairs with the beds and bean bag chairs. We did find a rather large load of wet towels and rugs in the dryer on day 2. I re-washed. Not a huge deal, I am sure it was just overlooked by the cleaning crew. Overall we give this home 5 stars! The price was definitely reasonable and the home was great, thanks for sharing it with us.
