Villa Catherine is a unique, historic villa located right on the beach and equipped with every luxury. The villa can accommodate 10–12 people and features 6 bedrooms. Pure indulgence is the focus at Villa Catherine, which features a courtyard with a sauna and outdoor shower, a beach cabana for aperitifs, and stunning sunsets that De Panne has to offer. To pamper its guests, Villa Catherine provides complimentary bedding and linens, basic amenities (bathroom, kitchen), and air conditioning.

History
De Panne on October 16, 1918, one month before the end of a brutal war. To the left of Villa Catherine stands Villa Ten Duine, which at the time served as the courthouse of Veurne. While the Devré family sat comfortably at home and a court hearing was taking place in the former courthouse, soldiers in Koekelare were firing Long Max shells at De Panne and Veurne... Unfortunately, Villa Ten Duine and Villa Catherine were hit by several shells, killing six people. Miraculously, little Paula, who was sleeping under the stairs at the time, survived the attack. Both villas were rebuilt after the war. Villa Ten Duine was restored to its former state down to the smallest detail. Villa Catherine was given a new, Art Deco-inspired look by the architect brothers Alexis and Jacques Dumont, the sons of Albert Dumont, the architect and founder of De Panne. Today, Villa Catherine is being converted into a luxurious vacation home featuring modern yet authentic and distinctive elements.

The Neighborhood
De Panne is a lively coastal town. Villa Catherine is located on the beach promenade and offers a 180-degree view of the sea from several floors. There are several restaurants just a stone’s throw from the villa. De Panne is home to several historic buildings, particularly in the Dumont neighborhood (1 minute from the villa). De Panne also has a great shopping street with many local stores: Au Coeur au Chocolat, Northsea, Acou, etc. There’s also a weekly Saturday market in our town square. If you’re more of a fan of nature walks, then De Panne is the place for you. De Panne has no fewer than 5 nature reserves.
