    Located in Crystal Beach, The Alexander is a spacious 4-bedroom, 3-bathroom vacation house boasting a private pool in the gated backyard, a room off the pool with living and bar area, and TWO west facing balconies! This beach home has a king bed, 2 queen beds, 6 twin size beds, 2 sleeper sofas and can accommodate up to 12 guests comfortably. Just a short 300 yards from Shirah St. Beach Access, you can't beat the convenience and amenities of this lovely home. Including spacious bedrooms and common areas, wooden floors, washer/dryer, multiple TVs, a whirlpool tub in the master, and a private BBQ grill for you to enjoy.  New carpet throughout the home, a new kitchen backsplash and granite countertops were added in 2021.  With over 2,100 square feet of living area, your whole group will have plenty of space to sprawl out and enjoy the lazy days in luxury at The Alexander.

    Crystal Beach is a Seaside-like development on the east side of Destin showcasing lovely vacation rentals. The highly desirable neighborhood has attractive, lush landscaping and is maintained in pristine condition. It's a terrific residential area, yet close to restaurants and activities in Destin. Walk minutes to the beach or venture over to nearby restaurants or shopping areas, like Destin Commons.

    Crystal Beach is a terrific residential area, yet close to restaurants and activities in Destin. Convenient to restaurants such as the award-winning 790 Inn on the Gulf, or Sarah K's Gourmet, get your fro-yo on at U-Twirl Frozen Yogurt or learn how to ride the waves at All-A Board Surf School.

    Close by is Destin Commons, a beautifully landscaped, pedestrian-friendly area and a great family venue where children will love to play in the interactive water fountains. Also, for the younger guests, a nautically/pirate themed outdoor playground features a 1,750 square foot soft play area with various creatures from the sea, slides, and a treasure chest!  Destin Commons also has a mini train for the kids. Destin Commons features over 75 shops and restaurants, including Godiva Chocolates, AMC Movie Theaters and Bass Pro Shop.

    If you are near Miramar Beach, the snorkelers in your group will love the new artificial reef called Dolphin Reef, deployed in 2017.  Located just 685 feet straight out from the Miramar Regional Public Beach access (by Pompano Joe's), it is becoming a haven for sea life. Each of the 4 snorkeling reefs comprises 40 acres of permitted sea bottom. The Dolphin Reef is at a depth of 12-20 feet. We strongly recommend that snorkelers use a kayak, paddleboard, or other flotation device when visiting the snorkel reefs. Sea conditions can and do change quickly and often. Enjoy!

Very satisfied

Home was very clean and spacious. The neighborhood was quiet and clean. The location of the home is in a great area and convenient for store runs or a walk to the beach. Definitely will be staying here again.

Overall it was pretty great just a few small complaints

The house was very nice but a work in progress. There are 3 floors... top floor stays so hot, middle floor is perfect and bottom is ok but was in the process of being updated maybe. The house was not very clean so we did have to do that when we got there. The back yard with the pool is pretty great!

Beautiful home but very dirty

The home would be so beautiful if it would be clean. Every corner was dirty! The bar room smelled SO bad we couldn’t even use it! The first day we got there the pool was nasty! Everything is out of date! Needs LOTS of updates!

Niece's adult bachelorette party

The overall impression of this property is average. It states that it sleeps 16 people. There were only enough linens, pillows and blankets for 12 people. I had to go out and buy more. The washer was not working and the property management company was aware of it before I event called. It took 3 days to get a new dryer. There was a remote missing for the TV in the basement so we couldn't use it. The pool was constantly dirty. When I called they came and vaccummed it and took the cleaning net with them. Had to call later in the week for the net to be returned to clean out the pool due to rain and the same company came again and didn't leave the net. They stated they were just doing "someone a favor" to help out and it's not their property to take care of. The garbage disposal broke on the 4th day. It seemed like I had to call the maintenance number daily. The cleanliness upon entry smelled good, but the house needs a deep cleaning and updating for sure. The floors and bathrooms were disgusting. For the type of rental it lists and the money that was paid, I and my 15 other adult (30-62 years old) guests were extemely unimpressed.

WARNING Find Another Property

We stayed here for my eldest daughters bachelorette. We had 14 of us. We stayed for 4 nights. This is not my first time renting from VRBO. But this is the first time we experienced a house this disgusting. Structure is nice. But overall a very dirty, needs ALOT of work, over priced, not fully furnished, misleading advertising of this property. Roaches in garage where a wall separates the garage and a so-called 4th bedroom with a small queen bed thrown in. roaches under this bed. No dressers or night stands for “4th” bedroom. Luggage would’ve had to be placed on floor. Small AC unit in the window above bed. Black stuff blowing out of unit. Bathroom was nice but door was broken, dry wall in that area not finished. The bar is literally in the same area as this so called room. Called property manager to complain and they brought a bottle of roach spray that they probably stopped at Walmart to purchase. Bathroom mirror broken in upstairs bath. Only 4 lounge chairs by pool, one broken for house that supposedly sleeps 16. Requested more chairs, no show. Upstairs porch also had broken patio chairs. Pool not heated and never cleaned once or chemicals placed in pool while we were there. Floors filthy, very limited kitchen utensils, no pots, no grilling utensils. Not a family friendly rental. Owner probably uses this as a turn and burn. I would save your money before renting this. Plenty of beautiful homes in the area. Disappointing long weekend!

Loved it here!

Everything was perfect for my friends and I! the walk was a short 2-3 min walk to the beach! Definitely need to wake up early to get a spot on the beach because there are ropes blocking off a small area, but other than that it was great! Would stay here again!

Wonderful!!! We loved it.

When we got there we were a bit nervous we had never rented a vacation home. It was first time in Florida also. The house was very clean we have no comments on that. We were not able to swim in the pool it was a bit cold when we were there. Every body loved the house the beach was in walking distance we were all impressed at how close it was. I will rent this home in the future. It had all we needed.

Look Elsewhere

I will start by saying the location of this property is fantastic, but really that’s all it has going for it. There is a serious mold issue in the bedroom with the two twin beds. The room is inhabitable, we had to keep the door to that room closed the entire week. The house was over 80 degrees when we arrived, as soon as you opened the main level door the smell of cat urine hits you. I will say, as the property cools down the smell becomes less noticeable. The yard is in need of some serious attention. It was completely overgrown in multiple areas. We mentioned this to management the day we arrived, on our last day there, a lawn guy showed up while we were swimming and started weed eating. He blew grass into the pool and on both of our cars. The main level floor was so dirty, we had to personally purchase a mop, bucket, and cleaning supplies and clean it ourselves. This was also mentioned to management, who offered to send a crew out that next day. The “crew” was a woman with a 4 month old baby strapped to her in a sling. We told her we would just finish cleaning ourselves as it would be nearly impossible to do it with the infant and we didn’t want the baby exposed to and cleaning chemicals. Also on our last day, the second A/C unit quit working. The temperature in the back of the house was approaching 80 degrees The property has potential, but is in serious need of maintenance and updating. The pool and backyard need better lighting. After the sun moves over the house, the backyard gets dark very quickly. It was too dark back there to adequately watch the kids swim at night.

The house was just what we needed. I just with the pool could have been lit up and the grass area around the pool could have been mowed.

Great property for multiple family trip!

We had 3 families stay together at this house, and it worked out perfectly. The bunk room was great for our 4 young kids, and the pool was utilized every day! The kitchen was stocked with all the pots, pans, and silverware necessary. We ate breakfast on the balcony every morning. It would be nice to have the same protective gate that is used on the front balcony stairs on the back stairs leading down to the pool. The walk to the beach was easy, and there is not a lot of traffic in the area. The home had plenty of linens and towels. We did have some issues with sand in sheets upon arrival and the dryer not working well - both of those issues were stated in another review I read too. I messaged the property manager about the dryer and someone came out the same day and it seemed to work better after that. The owners request that you set the AC to 78 degrees when you leave. We did not arrive until after 8:00 pm and it was uncomfortably hot in the house to have to walk up and down stairs bringing in suitcases. The only other complaint we had is that the public beach access space is very small given the amount of homes in the area. There are two large condominiums on either side of the public beach access and they rope off the beach in front of their properties so we had to get up early and set up a tent to get a good spot. Otherwise, the house worked really well for our needs and we would definitely stay there again.

Great location to the beach.

The house was within easy walking distance to the beach. The public beach area was small though. You need to plan on getting up early to get a spot. Plenty of space in the house for our group of 13. The back yard was spacious but a professional needs to come clean the pool at least a couple times a week. It got very dirty quickly and we couldn’t keep up with just a pool net. We couldn’t even use it the last day. We had everyone rinse before we got in but still couldn’t keep it clean. The dryer needs replaced or fixed. We had to run each load 3 x’s before they were dry.

Dirty house and broken TVs

House was in a good location. House was dirty nasty upon arrival. Beds had crumbs, and stains. TVs didn’t work for first day and a half. They did repair the tv. Dryer didn’t work, house full of guests and they dryer kept cutting off. They never fixed it. Gave us a 50$ gift card. We ended up leaving a day early because we needed to dry wet washed clothes. It was raining so hanging them wasn’t even an option. The last straw was loose medical pills scattered in the dresser. Management never contacted me.
