Located in a private community at Dillon Beach with beach access, water views, and a private backyard, Whale Tail Bahay is the perfect vacation home. Located in Marin County, Northern California, just 1:30 minutes from San Francisco international airport and 1:15 minutes from Oakland, easily accessible from the Bay Area or around the world.

Amenities include: Hot tub; private fenced in backyard; gas grill; fire pit; beach access; surfing; pet friendly; tv/ internet; washer/ dryer; equipt kitchen; foosball, poker table, board games.

Our house at Dillon Beach serves as a great jumping-off point for day trips and adventures of the California coast, Wine Country, and Marin.

Leave house in the same condition as check-in. No street parking. 4 cars max on property. NEVER leave pets unattended inside house. No shoes inside.
No pets on furniture. Fees may apply for extra cleaning or damage. Firepit, bbq grill, fireplace, and hot tub must be attended to at all times.
Shut off propane on grill after each use. Shut off fireplace and heater before leaving the house. No sand in hot tub.

I love this house! It has a unique layout that was so perfect for our group. The two upstairs bedrooms, with 7 beds total, was ideal for my teenage son and his friends, while my husband was able to use the second downstairs bedroom as an office. The house is decorated with fun, cool art and whimsical fabrics and furniture that make it feel special without being precious. The location and orientation of the house to the ocean is hard to beat: unobstructed sunset views from inside the home and both decks! And an easy walk to the beach and General Store. My interactions with the owner were stellar; she was prompt with her responses and helpful beyond expectation. We will be back!!

We loved our time here! The house was much brighter and spacious than expected. It's really great for larger or multiple families without being crazy enormous and losing a homey feeling. There's 2 full baths plus outside shower...wayer was plenty hot! Sitting on the front deck was a great spot to work and make friends with neighbors. Backyard campfire and hot tub were great ways to warm up after tidepooling. House was well equipped with extra blankets, beach towels, space heaters, kitchen equipment (just need a knife sharpener), even had marshmallow roasting sticks!! Cool art made the whole place feel fun. Much easier driving and parking than some other houses we had looked at near the main beach. We just walked the trail to fairly private parts of the beach. It was steep at times, so maybe not doable for those with physical impairments. Local residents were super nice. It had me looking at real estate listings...seriously loved it that much! Sunsets from the the front deck (or a few steps down the street) we're breathtaking. I'd love to make this a regular visit.

A group of us rented this home for a weekend. Our first night, we had a miserable experience as the power, heat and gas fireplace did not work on the main floor and we wore winter coats in the dark. Upon arriving, the home was close to 50 degrees, and the owner suggested we use inadequate, small plug in space heaters and blankets. Once the power and heat went off, we told the owner how uncomfortably cold it was and she did nothing to help fix the situation. She blamed the failure of her electrical services on a local power outage, but I confirmed there was none. In the morning it took an urgent call to the owner telling her we were about to leave (she never checked in), for her to take any action on the situation. Clearly this house doesn't have adequate heating, despite the listing saying it is heated. There were directions to guests about resetting breakers - had I known I was going to have to manage electrical issues I would not have stayed here. The hot tub was a main draw for us - yet the hot tub did not work / never turned on during our stay. We alerted the owner and asked her to send someone to fix it. The hot tub was never fixed while we were there. We didn't feel comfortable in this home and the amenities were not what was promised. The final straw came with a pitiful resolution for all our troubles by the host, inadequate for the experience we endured. My friends and I would never stay in this home again.

We seriously enjoyed the hot tub, the kitchen was well stocked and plenty of clean sheets and towels! The beach was a special treat and the fur babies loved checking out the wildlife in the area. Thanks for sharing such a wonderful place!

Overall very nice. The rocking chairs in the living room were not very accommodating for older folks. Curtains in the living room/dining area would be nice. Slept well, lots of sleeping space. When we were leaving, a kind security guard helped jump one of our cars. Thank you! The family enjoyed themselves immensely, thank you very much!

Beautiful view

Cabin is very clean, spacious bedrooms, and a beautiful view. Only thing missing was the remote to the living room tv, but with the view, didn’t really matter! Nice back yard, deer and a raccoon visited next door while we enjoyed the hot tub! Very quiet street. Overall, a great place!

The view says it all

If you are familiar with Dillon Beach you will love this house. I was surprised how easy the access to the beach was give the location of this property. A short walk down the road leads to a trail that lands you on the beach in less than 5 minutes from the door. And if you didn’t get enough of the ocean the view from the living room includes plenty of the pacific and Bodega Head. Plenty of sleeping space for our party of 6 adults, two kids, and a baby.

Another great vacation making memories in this lovely home. Perfect location close to the beach. Plenty of room for the whole family including the fur baby! Great back yard with bbq fire pit and my favorite, a spa. The kitchen well stocked. Hope to be next year for more fun!

Gorgeous View

Really enjoyed this eclectic home that has a lot of character. Large front windows to give a gorgeous view of the ocean. Beautiful back yard with hot tub, fireplace and grill. House is well equipped with everything you need and is a comfortable place to be. Everything was clean when we arrived. Checkin instructions nice and easy even in needing to access the lock box. It was a perfect home for our girls trip. Would definitely stay here again.

Perfect family get away

Darling inside and out! Perfect location, short walk to trail that leads to the beach or you can just enjoy the view from the dining room table. Love that it is mainly single story except a few bedrooms and a bathroom upstairs. Well equipped, comfy beds, plenty of towels. We will be back for sure!

Fun Family Time

This home is casual and comfortable and is ideal for a multi-generational family. Our group consisted of me, my sons and their families which included my adult and teen-aged grandchildren and two dogs. We enjoyed the proximity to the beach and the fire pit in the evening. Everyone agreed that we should make this a yearly event!
