”We were prepared for no hot water, no AC, no cell service, but we were not prepared for the overall shady communication, vibes and charges. We booked this hotel to be close to Corcovado, and booked a tour with the hotel. When we asked for details, they said they said that the communication from Expedia was poor, and they only booked our snorkeling tour. We asked to cancel the snorkeling because the national park was our priority. She said they couldn't because they already bought the tickets....

”We had a great 6 nights at Casa Gitana, we had a lovely room with a shady private patio, our room was cleaned everyday and the staff were great. Breakfast was included and there is a restaurant for lunch and dinner. It's a short walk to the beach and many tours can be organised at the hotel. Thanks. ”

”We love love LOVED our stay here!!! Just thinking about our time here makes me want to be back in Costa Rica!! I thought it might not be our kind of place - and I also didn't realise the Corcovado day trip boats could pick you up from there - but I chose to spend a couple of nights there so that we'd be half-way along the Drake Bay Trail. But it actually turned out to be one of our favourite stays in Costa rica (and we traveled the country for a month!). Firstly, it was right on a beautiful...

”Really great staff who really know the area and cultivate the farm. They can give you information on ecology you won't find outside of guided tour groups in the park, and there's also yoga. The property is beautiful and it is easy to see birds.
It is a pretty primitive property and so you should be expecting bug bites and no modern comforts. Bathing in rainwater is amazing, but it is also not warm. Also the ants really bite- I was itchy for a week afterward. So be careful. ”
