Immaculate house

Great house. Exactly as shown in the pictures. Very clean. The outside is great also. My dog loved the property too and enjoyed the dog bed that was there. It's much bigger & softer than his bed at home. Wish I could have stayed longer.

Quiet getaway

Perfect place for our family to relax! We fished, had a bonfire and went canoeing! There’s a few places around to eat and shop not far but they have everything to cook at the property if you wanted. There’s hiking and plenty of outdoor adventures nearby! The grill was a standard camping grill that’s by the driveway. Little small if you want to grill a lot of stuff. Property company was very quick with response to my questions! Definitely would come back to this property

Perfectly relaxing stay on the river

Our stay at the Log Cabin on the New River was wonderful! The house was exceptionally clean and well-appointed. We had everything we needed, and we loved wading and fishing in the river just outside our door! We will definitely be back.

This was our 2nd trip to this cabin but this time, much different. The dishes were greasy and appeared unclean Washed all plates, glasses, utensils, etc before using. The TV streaming ( Netflix, Prime, Hulu, etc) was almost non-existent. Also recommend they upgrade from queen to king bed. Dated with squeaky spring and no blankets with 2 flat pillows and stiff bed spread. Good points include view, jacuzzi tub, double shower, chairs on the deck, fire pit by the river, nice washer/dryer room.

Peaceful and serene log cabin

Beautifully crafted and appointed log cabin on 3 riverfront acres. The cabin was incredibly clean and well kept. Would definitely recommend as a peaceful weekend getaway!

Nice place, but one big issue

This place is nicely done, furnished, decorated, and was exactly as described. There was one major issue, however. There was an incredible odor throughout the entire house that could only be described as mothballs or some other chemical. We believe it was coming from the basement and was spreading through the house through the AC intake vent. There were about 12 Hot Shot No-Pest Strips in the basment (Dichlorvos) but could not verify if that was where the smell was coming from. We called management and they said they would check it out while we were out on the New River Trail and get back to us. We never received an update, and so we had to sleep with all of the windows open both nights with no explanation or fix. The smell made one of us nauseous, which we also told management. It was disappointing that they never got back to us on the issue. Please beware of this issue if you are going to book this place.

Wonderful place to relax!

We really enjoyed this beautiful place! We felt how much love and care were put in building the cabin and keeping it very clean and so well organized. We appreciated everything that was done to make us feel very comfortable, relaxed and entertained. We would stay there again.

Best trip ever

The cabin itself was gorgeous! It's tucked away on the mountains roughly 5 miles from 81, its peaceful, arriving at the cabin everyone was really helpful, was even allowed to checkin early, which was a blessing, the views from the porches were beautiful, the wildlife especially the deer was a welcoming site, the phone service is spotty, but they do have wifi which unfortunately you have a certain limit your allowed to use a day. Will definitely return one day for some rest and relaxing

weekend getaway

We had a great time here. The whole place is super clean. The best parts of the house are the huge deck with lots of spots to eat/drink outdoors while watching the birds fly around (bright yellow, orange and blue ones!), the yard with both shady and sunny spots to hang by the river, and the cozy living room with gas fireplace for nights and cool days.

Heaven!

I was so appreciative of the beauty and all the little touches the owner thought of, so that you could come away relaxed and refreshed with good memories made at the riverside, firepit, porch and fun/relaxing things to do if you decided just to stay in the house (or the weather was so that you had to) it would still be a cozy weekend. Movies and books, cozy gas fireplace, cornhole in the basement. The stars were amazing. What a nice surprise. The only difficulty I experienced was that it didn't appear as VRBO on my email that gave the password rather New River retreat so I became concerned that I couldn't get in. The VRBO email I received did not have a phone number to reach the manager but VRBO helpline connected us.

Peace and quiet

Weekend getaway to recharge and relax...plain and simple. The Log Cabin is the absolute perfect spot for that. Only downside was wood was wet and wind blew too.much for a fire by the river. Repeat guests for 21 is a definite. Thanks

Amazing and Relaxing!

As soon as we pulled up and before we entered The Log Cabin, I knew this was going to be a beautiful weekend. We were not disappointed. The cleanliness, furnishings and decor was amazing. We had a restful weekend and had close family one afternoon to celebrate Christmas. Thank you for sharing your gorgeous home on the New River. We will return!
