Siisti ja tyylikäs hostelli nukkumiskapseleilla
Hostelli oli siistein näkemäni! Kiva sisustus, mukava henkilökunta ja ns. nukkumiskapselit olivat aivan loistavat! Kapselien ansiosta hostellissa sai yksityisyyttä ja vierailu oli aivan mahtava. Kävelyetäisyys Dublinin keskeisimpiin kohteisiin. Menisin toistekin!

Pretty alright hostel in Dublin
I stayed at Jacobs Inn hostel for 2 nights in a 12 bed dorm. The room was nice and spacious with bathroom attached to it on a bonus the floor had separate toilet and shower cubicles as well. Only minus point is a very noisy metal cage locker underneath the bed, which makes so much noise when reaching to your belongings. You do not really wanna open it in the middle of the night to awake others in the room. Also the hostel is not very social place. People do not gather together except for the breakfast which is very regular type with cereal, toasts and eggs. For me it was a surprise that you are not allowed to bring your own alcohol to the hostel and you need to read the hostel rules upon checking in and to sign it. Also the receptionists are not very welcoming and they lack enthusiasm, they seem like they are fed up in their repetitive work, which is not very nice. But I understand because this is a very hostel and they have to repeat themselves hundreds of times per week.

We are currently in the process of replacing all of our metal cages for coded lockers that are much quieter, so that will reduce the amount of noise in the room. We're also developing a big common area for our guests to gather in! We do hope that we will see you again in the future and give us a chance to impress you!

Hieno kokonaisuus!
Sijainti loistava! Huone ja muut tilat siistejä.Hostellissa oli saatavilla kaikki tarvittava ja hostellin tunnelma oli rento, lämmin ja turvallinen.

Turvallinen, tilava Iso aula sohvat ja kahvia. :-)
Erittäin siisti keittiö. Turvallisuus hyvä koska vain kortilla pääsee liikkumaan ovista. Kävely kierros ilmainen hostellien järjestämä. Ehdottomasti Suosittelen! ;-)

Siisti hostelli hyvällä paikalla
Hostelli oli erittäin hyvällä paikalla, melko siisti ja rauhallinen. Aamiainen ei ollut erityisen ravitseva, perus hostellitasoa luultavasti, mutta sillä pärjäsi. Korttien ja ovilukkojen kanssa oli ongelmia melko paljon. Mukava henkilökunta.

Erinomainen sijainti, kävelyetäisyys kaikkialle, tosi siisti paikka, hyvät verhot sängyn ympärillä, siistit kylppäritilat ja tarpeeksi suihkuja ja vessoja, tosi mukava henkilökunta, perus ok aamiainen Location was great with walking distance to everywhere, very clean, nice curtains around your bed for more privacy, clean bathrooms with a fair amount of showers & toilets, reception staff was super friendly and breakfast was basic ok level :)

A nice hostel that it worth the money
The service was great, and the hostel had a very nice athmosphere. We had a private room for two people and it was totally worth the money we payed for it. Light breakfast was also included.

Hyvä hostelli hyvällä sijainnilla
Vietimme kolme yötä Jacob's Inn hostellissa ja voin ehdottomasti suositella sitä Dubliniin matkaaville. Hostellille pääsee kätevästi lentokenttäbussilla ja sen ympäristöstä löytyy kauppoja, ravintoloita sekä baareja. Lyhyt kävelymatka "pääkadulle". Huoneet olivat isoja ja siistejä. Hostellissa oli hyvä palvelu ja esim. matkatavarat sai säilytykseen pientä korvausta vastaan. Perus hostelliaamupala. Ei mitään negatiivista sanottavaa paikasta :)

Loistava palvelu
Olimme kaverin kanssa Dublinissa ekaa kertaa ja kahden hengen huoneessa Jacob's innissä. Todella ystävällinen ja auttavainen henkilökunta, asiakkaita laidasta laitaan, rauhallinen sijainti kuitenkin kaiken lähettyvillä ja hauskoja lisäherkkuja: free city walking tour, grillibileet, sauna sekä pub crawl :) vain aamupalalle olisi toivonut vähän vaihtelua, mutta muuten suosittelen lämpimästi muillekin tätä hostellia!

Jacob’s Inn offered what a traveler needs and that’s a place to sleep. Nothing fancy, but it gets the job done and it’s located walking distance to many great places in Dublin. The place was clean and the folks at the front desk were so helpful and friendly! I’d recommend this place.

That night, we had two fire drill because one of the guest played with the red button and someone smoked in the toilet of the room. The bar was closed. There was only one staff member to manage all of this so I can only congratulate this person. It is usually better.

I was content with my stay. To learn the downtown area of Dublin as a first visit it was handy. The staff were great and helpful. I could do laundry. It was convenient for the bus tours I took and lots of shops around for snacks. Pubs were small and crowded in that area. But I had only popped in on a match day. Occasionally noisy but overall the mattress was comfortable. USB ports and reading light in my pod. A bit rougher area but I’m 60 and a solo traveller

great stay for lowkey or social solo travelers
I loved staying here - the location was excellent, the pods and en suite bathrooms were great (10 second limit on water each push notwithstanding, but you make it work), the common areas and activities made it so easy to make friends. I got coffee or a beer from the lounge area every day - it was so nice! Very sweet staff. I definitely recommend staying here especially if you're traveling solo in Dublin! You can make your stay whatever you want :)

There was no power socket in a pod. It could use only usb-A in a pod, which is out-dated. It needs to be replaced by usb-C, otherwise people cannot recharge their phones or other devices. Room cleaning was too early. They said room cleaning starts at 10am even though the checkout is 11am. So, you should be prepared by 10am. This totally doesn’t make sense. While they were cleaning, there was no room to pack my bag, so I had to ask the cleaning people to leave my room. The hostel should change the checkout time to be 10am. Except these two, everything was nice. It was quite a modern facility. Thanks to a curtain for each pod, privacy can be safely kept. A locker is given to each person.

Not coming back
Met with incredibly rude and judgemental female staff member who was more interested in the music playing than resolving the problem/explaining to me what the problem was (3rd party issue - she obstinately claimed the card declined despite my receipts). Her manager was very polite and helpful. Room was as expected, although 6-bed dorms have no sound insulation so don't expect to sleep much. Housekeeping also arrived 1h before checkout, so I hope they enjoyed watching me get ready to leave. I don't plan on coming back

I enjoyed the stay at this hostel. Located close to many restaurants and social activities. The pods were spacious and I love the secured locker. My best tip is to code the secured locker code nightly simply because in a shared room, you may not know who is looking. My only con is the timed showers and sinks. It is hard to wash your hands for even 10 seconds when it shuts off every 5 seconds. I would definitely stay here again even though it is a little pricey for a hostel. But you will get the space, cleanness, great customer service which is worth paying extra.

The staff and facilities were great. Everyone was very friendly, understanding, outgoing, and helpful. I stayed in the 12 mix room and it was great. I had a wonderful time and recommend this to anyone traveling to Dublin. It is so close to the tram and theres more than enough cabs to go around. Its a super location within walking distance of everything great in Dublin. Only complaint is that the showers run on the colder side so be prepared for a cold shower. They did warm up a little when lots were showering at the same time.
