Holiday Vacation
We rented this house for a quick family vacation. Worked perfectly for our family. Large rooms, large house, plenty of chairs, and sitting space. Just what we needed for our stay. Plenty of room for parking. Our group had 4 vehicles. We would stay here again if we come back to this area.

A Hidden Gem
Trailhouse is a very appropriate name for this hidden gem! It's roomy, well stocked and the perfect location for visiting parks or MTB trails. Plenty of parking, comfy beds and a stocked kitchen means you'll be cooking up some delish meals after your adventure. With 2 TVs your group could break off and watch their own movies. The hosts are very informative and the listing was accurate. Any questions were answered quickly and they offered up activities to help make sure we were having a good time. We'll be back for sure!

School field trip
There was plenty of room for our kids and adult chaperones. The kitchen was great for preparing and serving meals. The kids loved the fire pit in the backyard. It was easy to get everyone ready and out of the door in the morning. Clean and comfortable.

Spirit mountain wedding weekend stay
Check in process was easy. The house is a bit run down, but functioned nicely for our group of 8. Location was not my favorite. Located right next to a RV campground. All and all it was a good stay.

Very pleased!!! House was perfect for our group of 8 ladies. Inside was recently remodeled and very clean. Location was great with park and walking trails nearby. Host was very accommodating and quick to respond plus shared suggestions of what to do and where to eat. Thanks for making us feel welcome!

Perfect Family Gathering
We had family ages 88 to 60 from all over the country staying for a wedding. The house was perfect for 9 of us, 4 couples and 1 single. It was VERY clean and so spacious. We had many meals there with up to 25, including 5 children, so having two gathering spaces was wonderful (kids in the upstairs living room with movies streaming). We stayed for 5 days and could not imagine being in a hotel over this house. We had room to play table games, set up a puzzle, watch TV, be on a computer, or just sit and chat (all at the same time...so much room!). The internet failed the last day but the owner was easy to contact and worked hard to get it back online. A hotel would never have provided us the family time together. This was my first VRBO experience and I'm sure we'll do it again. I hope other rentals are as nice as this one. For future renters wondering: The beds are comfortable and come with linens. There are extra blankets available. Bath towels, hand towels and wash cloths are also provided, although there weren't enough wash cloths unless we did a load of laundry. Laundry detergent is provided. In the kitchen there are plenty of dishware (plates, cups, etc), flatware, knives, toaster, coffee makers, blender, pizza pans, flat baking pans. There was plenty of napkins but we needed more paper towels and toilet paper. There were no kitchen towels or dish cloths, just a sponge. The hand soap provided was foam and too watered down. There is an iron and ironing board. Overall, it is well supplied but we did have to buy a few inexpensive things that we typically use.

Spacious quiet house
Very clean and lots of room. All 5 bedrooms decent size and nice to have 3 bathrooms. Good sized living area. We were there in Winter (-20 degrees) and would like to come back in Summer as a park w/ trail access right across the street. About 20 min from heart of Duluth though around the corner from Fond Du Lac ski hill and close to the back entrance of Spirit Mtn. Overall a great place and we would like to come back.

Perfect Outdoor Getaway Weekend
We had a great time at the Trail House, which was the perfect home base for our outdoor getaway weekend. We had 3 kids under 6 who loved the park at Chambers Grove just a block away, and the house had plenty of space for our group to relax and recharge when we weren't out and about. We loved how close the house is to Jay Cooke State Park, and we also were able to take a quick trip into Canal Park downtown Duluth. The Trail House is a great spot - we'd love to stay here again!

Sorry that the cable access was down during your stay - Charter was able to determine that the cable box was faulty and replaced it with a new unit. I took the opportunity to update/install a new 65” TV and 4 channel sound bar in the main room on the 1st floor so the viewing experience should be significantly improved !

The property offered plenty of room for our family to park (2 vehicles and an RV), work, play, and sleep. The house was spotless. Matthew always responded quickly and provided assistance when needed. It was great to have WiFi and the washer and dryer. Beautiful drive through Jay Cooke state park. Would stay again!

Great house! Clean and comfortable! 20 minutes from Duluth but very near Jay Cooke State Park. We had a wonderful time. Matthew was great to work with! Sammies Pizza is near by. Excellent pizza with 2 gluten free crust options both 10 and 12 inch pies!!!!

Very good experience
We were impressed by the cleanliness and open floor plan. The only drawback was how far away it was from Duluth which is about 25 minutes. If you don't care about proximity to Duluth it is perfect. It is right on the river with easy access to county and state parks. It was very good for five adults and three children.

Super clean, plenty of room, great for families!
This was our first time using VRBO and I was nervous about what we would find. We had an amazing experience! The property was wonderful and Matthew was great at communicating. The house is updated, very clean, and we had everything we needed from extra towels to spices. We loved the nearby park, which had plenty to do for the kids during down time. The only reason I gave the location a 4 instead of 5 stars was simply because there wasn't a lot nearby in terms of restaurants and such. Most days though we were doing activities downtown Duluth and ate there, so it wasn't a problem at all. We'd definitely stay again and highly recommend!

House well laid out. Really fit our needs for sleeping arrangements. Could have used a TV upstairs. Could have been better stocked with TP and paper towels. Was nice to be a reasonable distance from Duluth. Our toddler granddaughter loved the close by playground.

Glad you enjoyed your stay at the Trailhouse - We have long planned to get a TV mounted to the wall in the main room upstairs. After reading your review we decided to wait no longer and now have a new wall mounted 60” TV upstairs ! We stock each bathroom with 1 roll of TP on the wall dispenser and 2 more rolls in the drawer of the each vanity. Also have 1 new roll of paper towel on the kitchen countertop and 1-2 new rolls under the kitchen sink.

The house was really great. It was far out from central Duluth but we did know that when we booked. The space itself was spacious, clean, and well stocked. There wasn’t a bunch of stuff my kids could break which I appreciated and it helped me enjoy it more.

Great Location for Variety of Activities
Awesome space for gathering our family. Big open family area on main floor, and smaller area to relax on second floor. Very clean. Did lots of hiking in Jay Cooke State Park, went into Duluth to sight see/shop. Next time we'll bring our kayaks/canoes. Sat out at the little park around the corner on the water to watch fourth of July fireworks and got quite a show. Minnie vs. Wisco. Super easy to get access to house.

Roomy home
The house was nice and roomy for myself and 9 girlfriends. The location was a bit interesting…next door to a parked RV and a campground. There was only one kitchen towel, one paper towel roll and limited rolls of toilet paper. There was a charcoal grill, but it would’ve been nice to have a gas one for ease of use. Overall, the home was clean and roomy and we had a pleasant stay.

The house was very clean and comfortable and fit our grown family of 9 well. Beds were comfortable, kitchen was well stocked with pots, pans, place settings etc. Could purchase firewood next door. With what we planned to do in Duluth and north of there, the location was not very convenient for that, but everything else was very good. Thank you!!

Stayed here with a group of girl friends. Beautiful house with plenty of space. The back yard was nice and enjoyed the grill and fire pit. If you need a stay for 10 people this is great in the area.

Weekend get-away
We enjoyed our stay here - nice house with lots of room and amenities. It wasn't quite as isolated as we thought it was going to be, but we were still in the 'off-season' so the campground behind the place was empty and quiet. Wonderful access to parks and trails.

Nice property close to ski hills
Our group came to the Duluth area for a long weekend of skiing and we were very satisfied with the Trailhouse. Only 15 minutes away from Spirit Mountain and a minute or two from Mont du Lac, the house was clean and nicely furnished. We had plenty of room for our group of 10. The kitchen was well stocked with plates/glasses/silverware. We recommend the Trailhouse!

Back for a second year in a row. The house was just as nice this year as last year. The owner even updated the kitchen floor since we were here last. Owner went out of their way to help us when our event was cancelled/postponed at the last minute due to COVID. Very good communication. I highly recommend staying at the Trailhouse if you are traveling to the area.

Easy in / out for adventures
Easy to get to all types of outdoor activities. The property itself is not the best of views, if that’s what you care about. We used it as a home base - walked right out the door to lots of trails. Large enough space for kids/adults. A TV upstairs would be a good addition for evening movies. We had a great experience.

Great Spot for Easy Hiking!
My friends and I wanted to hike at Jay Cooke and I can't think of a more perfect spot! We were just a few miles from the dropoff and went every day for four straight days. GREAT location for mountain biking because the trails start at the front door. There is also a cute park just a bit away that has a small little "Loop" that was beautiful to do at dusk. Highly recommend!
