This is a wonderful hotel but was very disappointed with the staff on check in. We arrived after 2pm, check in was 2pm, and the room wasn't ready. We sat in the foyer for almost an hour then when I approached the Duty Manager he me told the room had been ready for awhile. Clearly they hadn't noted that I was sitting in the foyer with a person in a wheelchair and approached us to say that the room was ready.
Secondly in order to eat at the in-house restaurant we were made to go out in the cold and go through the kitchen. There is clearly no wheelchair access to the restaurant and this is not made clear or signposted anywhere that we could see. In other places we have stayed they have had a chair lift that will take the person in the wheelchair to the dining room. This was some what disappointing and extremely demeaning to have to go through the kitchen. Notwithstanding that we had to exit the building on a very cold morning in order to get to the restaurant for breakfast
