Get Away

Restful Retreat
Peaceful retreat yet close to everything. Very well appointed cabin. We loved the proximity to the water. It was nice to see some wildlife. We ventured to nearby towns and enjoyed a few tourist attractions.

Our wonderful experience near Ellijay, GA
We Loved It! Our recent stay watching the Cartecay River rage from the heavy rain was incredible! The water soon transformed into a beautiful trout stream with this perfect Cozy Cabin alongside (still)! We enjoyed this gem of a cabin; it was designed well with a great kitchen and bath(s). It has creaky floors, though is way too clean for a cabin!

A little slice of heaven
We enjoyed our stay from the moment we walked in the door to when we left. The cabin was beautifully decorated with a rustic feel. Hot tub was already heated and ready for us to relax. The river running behind the cabin was one of my favorite things. We even got to see a beaver swimming up stream. We will definitely go back soon.

Gorgeous cabin with amazing view
Stayed at the cabin for three nights as part of a quiet weekend getaway. It had everything you would want out of cabin, including a push-button fireplace, a comfy bed, a tremendous view, numerous spots to lounge, and a kitchen with all the tools you need to cook dinner each night. The hot tub was delightful as well. We will definitely be back!

Beautiful river cabin!
This cabin was phenomenal! Very spacious, cozy and clean. My husband and I took a 4 year anniversary getaway weekend here. The push button fireplace, the comfy bed and not to mention the BEAUTIFUL river out back with a porch to enjoy it from!

Beautiful and relaxing riverfront cabin!
We really enjoyed our time here. Extremely clean and organized property stocked up with everything you need for a weekend getaway. The hot tub worked great and heated up quickly. We loved the indoor fireplace and the screened porch. The sound of the river is so peaceful! Make sure to check out nearby hiking and apple barns- we loved Hillcrest and R and A Orchards! We plan to visit again in the future. Great spot!

The Pay and the Stay
In September we reserved this cottage for two nights the last week in Oct. We were billed a high per night rate plus as much in fees. When I looked at the cabin online in early Oct, it showed a much lower nightly rate for this cabin--over one hundred dollars lower per night. When I contacted the owner to ask about this, she wrote that her rates change all the time. She did not offer an adjustment. Actually my understanding was that cabin rates varied during the year but were stuck to the dates. ... Although this cabin is "adults only" it has a stylized child-theme of bears-equal-wilderness/nature--which felt silly and cartoonish. We feel we wasted a lot of money. And we did not use the kitchen, dining room, and downstairs bedroom, nor the hot tub and outdoor grill. And the water faucets were not cleaned and were full of dirt and grime. The water smelled rusty. And there were no paper towels or tissues. Luckily we brought our own water and other consumable supplies. We intended to just sit by the river, but further bad luck had the temps dropping to 20s-30s.

Paradise on the Cartecay
Our 2nd stay in this cabin. It’s a place that calls you back. Beautiful and relaxing. I repeated “I could stay here forever” the whole time. The river, the privacy, and the wildlife were amazing. Cabin is so thoughtfully stocked. Things you find you need and cannot believe they have thought of and there they are. Very clean. One of the very best!

Relaxing Stay!
The house was mostly as listed minus a tv in the downstairs bedroom. The screened porch and deck are fabulous. We enjoyed sitting outside and listening to the sound of the water flowing. Just a short drive to the grocery store and to wineries. Plenty of room for four adults. We enjoyed our stay!

Perfect Get A Way
First impressions are so important and we had the best! The cabin was so clean and comfortable. My favorite room of all was the upstairs bedroom. It was huge and so private. We really enjoyed having our coffee on the back porch in the morning listening to the water fall over the rocks in the river. This was a wonderful experience for us and a fabulous place to be. Thank you for the accommodations and we hope to come back one day in the near future!

Absolutely Beautiful!
This was a perfect romantic getaway for my husband and I's anniversary and we were so glad we chose this cabin. It was absolutely beautiful, very peaceful and quiet and right on the water. We loved the hot tub, the firepit, the screened porch where we enjoyed our dinner and relaxed and talked. We even enjoyed venturing out to downtown Ellijay and walking around visiting some of the shops. Very cute town. We absolutely enjoyed our stay and would stay again.

Lovely spot right on the river
Cool cabin with great deck. Advertided a hot tub on the deck but the first time we tried to use it, we discovered it was not working properly and leaking out terribly. We were really looking forward to usung this every day. I think all the amenities should be checked out by the property managers before each check in. We were given a very modest refund

For our future guests, we have our hot tub cleaned and inspected before every guest, including Catherine, and it was working before their arrival. The motor failed when they tried to use it. We contacted a repair person right away, and it was back up and running in less than 24 hrs. Rather than wait for repair, Catherine chose to leave the cabin and cut her stay short. We asked her what she felt an appropriate refund would be for the inconvenience, and gave them the refund that they requested. We did everything we could to accommodate Catherine, and we're sorry to see they felt it was only worth 3 stars.

Peaceful and quiet
Needed some time to rest and relax my mind. And this trip gave me just that. My wife was reluctant about going here but it turned out that she enjoyed the stay more than me. We took her brother and his wife who said that they never had a more relaxed weekend with just the 4 of us. Soft music with nice dining atmosphere was very romantic. The only bad thing about the whole stay was that I spent 3 nights and should've spent the whole week. Can't wait to need another rest time. I will most definitely return to this cozy cabin on the river.

We loved this place. So peaceful right on the river. Love the hot tub right next to the river. House has everything you need. The only negative would be the bed in the downstairs bedroom was very creeky and noisy, could not sleep in it as I am a toss and turn guy!

My boyfriend and I had a wonderful time staying at the Cartecay Cabin! It is absolutely beautiful! When we first walked in, all the lights were on and the TV had soft, relaxing music with beautiful nature scenes. It felt so welcoming! We had an amazing view of the river! And the price per night was way more affordable than a hotel. And this was staying in a little piece of heaven for a few days in the Georgia mountains in a beautiful cabin right on a river! I will definitely go back again! 🙂

Women's Trip
This was our 23rd year for our women's trip and each year we pick a new place to explore. This little cozy River Hid-away did not fail us!! It was exactly what we needed and so much more! Monica was so easy to work with and got back to me with any questions in a short period of time. All the basic essentials we needed were available to us at the cabin and town was just a short drive for all other last minutes items. Not only was it adorable but we felt very safe in the surrounding areas and would recommend it to anyone looking to get away to relax and enjoy nature and of course the beautiful river!!

We had the best time staying here! The neighborhood was quiet and the river flowing by was extremely peaceful. The kitchen was well stocked and the whole place was very clean. We visited local wineries and farm markets and fixed fabulous meals every night. We highly recommend this cabin and would love the opportunity to stay there again!

Heaven!
The cabin was just as listed. Upon entry, we were greeted with relaxing music rom the TV and the most incredible view of the river. My wife and I had stocked up at the local supermarket (both an Ingles and Walmart Super Center for supplies and the nearby liquor store for beverages. We spent the next two days exploring nearby Ellijay and went to Fort Mountain State Park. We also tubed down the river, which was awesome! Each day, we made it a point to get back to the cabin by 5 PM. We would enjoy happy hour, light a fire in the fire pit and sit and watch the river. The house was extremely comfortable, clean and well appointed. The fireplace was disabled for use (as it is summer and understandable) but we would put on You Tube on the TV above the fireplace and found a 12 hour, 4K fireplace video that we would leave on. Loved this Get Away!!
We needed a long weekend away from everything, and we got it! This home has it all from the wonderful screened in porch, with comfy porch swing and chairs, the deck outside (where we ate almost every meal), the rushing River right in the back yard, the fire pit right by the river, the comfortable bed, the fireplace for chilly mornings, the kitchen, grill and plentiful supplies, and wonderful folks to rent from! We tore ourselves away from this paradise just long enough to shop in downtown Elijay (fun)! We will be back if the Lord’s willing and the creek don’t rise! ❤️

Perfect peace.
Everything we wanted. The cabin was beautiful with very comfortable beds! The screend in porch was amazing. I actually slept in the swing bed 2 nights! The constant moving water was so soothing. Extremely peaceful and very quiet area. We loved the fact there was a very steep incline across the river so we had no one looking back at us. I would say it was perfect if it were not for the water inside the house. It had a very harsh oder. The oder did not linger once it was turned off . The advertisement descriptor said there was a tv in each bedroom. That was only true for master bedroom. But, we didn't care. We were not there to watch tv. I would 100% return to this Perfect Peace. I have already recommended it to many of my friends.

Thanks so much ReNae, so glad you enjoyed! Love sleeping out on the swinging bed. Yes, our water is well water and while we do filter and it is completely safe to drink, it can sometimes have an odor.

Right on the river!
The best feature is being right on the river! You could literally fish from the deck! We wanted to but it was too cold when we were there! You will love it!
