Wake up to the sound of Tails Creek. Not an alarm. Not traffic. Just cold mountain water moving over rock, right outside your bedroom window.
The Creekhouse was built with one purpose: to be a place where people actually unwind. Three floors, four bedrooms, and more than 3,500 square feet of thoughtfully finished space — but what our guests remember most is the sound of that creek from the back deck rocking chairs.
The Setting
Tucked into the North Georgia mountains with complete privacy — no visible neighbors, no road noise — the Creekhouse sits along Tails Creek, which flows directly into Carters Lake just 1.8 miles downstream. Carters Lake is one of Georgia's most pristine reservoirs: 62 miles of undeveloped shoreline, no private docks, no lakefront homes. Just water, forest, and quiet. It's exceptional for fishing, kayaking, and morning walks.
Downtown Ellijay — known for its apple orchards, boutiques, wineries, and farm-to-table restaurants — is 13 minutes away.
Inside the Cabin
The main floor opens into an airy great room with a 72" smart TV above a gas fireplace, a fully equipped kitchen designed for people who actually cook, and a dining peninsula wrapped in windows facing the woods. The primary bedroom features a king bed, creek views, crackable windows so you fall asleep to the water, and a reading nook that earns its keep on rainy afternoons.
Upstairs, a second bedroom with twin beds sits alongside a dedicated game room — darts, oversized wall chess, wall Scrabble, and another 72" TV. Downstairs, two additional king bedrooms share a double-vanity bath, a Keurig coffee bar, a private deck, and two hammocks strung for afternoon naps.
Throughout the cabin, you'll find original artwork — paintings and limited prints that give the space a personal character you won't find in a standard rental.
The Deck
The back deck is where the stay really happens. Rocking chairs, a couch, swivel seating, an outdoor dining table for 8, a gas fireplace, and a 52" weatherproof TV. When the creek is running strong after a rain, it's a sound machine that no app can replicate.
The Details
Fiber internet (fast enough to work remotely if you need to). Smart lock entry. Gas grill. Keurig on every floor. Three smart TVs. Full laundry. Parking for multiple vehicles.
