We do not live onsite but are available via phone, text or booking app platform to help with questions or issue. The cabin is available for check-in 24 hours a day with a custom door code provided during the booking process.

The Fox and Firefly is nestled up top in The Walnut Mountain community. It is a quick 15 minutes into downtown Ellijay and 25 minutes to downtown Blue Ridge where you will find a number of things to do year round! Plentiful walking/biking trails, waterfalls, tubing, and white water rafting, quaint shops and downtown eateries, multiple vineyards, and local arts & crafts. Festivals are held year-round and are fun for all ages. The Walnut Mountain community itself offers tennis/pickleball courts, lakes, hiking trails, creek access with picnic tables and community pool open from Labor Day - Memorial Day.

Guests will have access to the entire cabin and both decks during your stay. Please note that the main floor does require a level of stairs on the exterior of the cabin. The community also has Pickleball, Pool (seasonal availability), Lakes, Hiking and Creek Access with Picnic Areas. All roads are paved to the cabin.

Allow me to introduce myself. I’m Mr. Fox, your unofficial host and full-time mountain dweller here at The Fox and Firefly, a cozy three-story cabin tucked deep in the golden woods of Walnut Mountain in Ellijay, Georgia. I know every trail, tree, and trickle of creek around these parts - and in the fall, the forest becomes pure magic.

A Front-Row Seat to Fall
From the moment you arrive, you'll be greeted by long-range mountain views framed in gold, rust, and amber. The sunsets? Still stunning, but now they come with a cool breeze and the scent of chimney smoke in the air. My advice? Grab a blanket and cozy up on the porch swing, beverage in paw, for nature’s most vibrant show.

Two Cozy Suites for Fireside Snoozing
This cabin was thoughtfully designed for two couples or a crew of close friends. Each bedroom has a plush king bed, private 3-piece bathroom, a coffee nook with starter coffee and creamer, and a little nook of its own to unwind, because leaf-crunching adventures call for deep, dreamy rest.

Loft Vibes, Elevated
The upstairs loft is made for misty mountain mornings and cozy self-care. Roll out a yoga mat, book an in-cabin massage with one of our trusted local therapists, or just lounge until the afternoon sun hits just right. Then hop in the 5-person hot tub with a good book or your favorite playlist. Bonus: robes are provided, so no chilly dashes across the porch.

Game On, Gourd Season
When the air gets crisp, the game room gets cozy. Play a few rounds on the retro arcade, try your hand at poker or darts, or spin some vintage vinyl while you sip something spiced. Whether you’re feeling nostalgic or just competitive, this cabin knows how to keep spirits high.

Just minutes from the cabin, you’ll find apple orchards, harvest festivals, cider houses, wineries, boutique shops, and warm pie from roadside stands. Our in-cabin QR codes will guide you to our favorite local gems - plus tour guides, trails, and hidden autumn adventures.

Everything you need is within a 15-30 minute drive. Multiple shopping districts and excellent food options, and a new state-of-the-art Movie Theater, or if you want to stretch your legs a bit the Chattanooga area with all of its attractions are about 1.5 hours away, the Great Smoky Mountains National Park & Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge area only 2.5 hours away. Cades Cove about 1.5 hours drive, the casinos in Cherokee, NC 1.5 hours. Closer to home take the Blue Ridge Scenic Railway, ranked the 4th-best railway to enjoy the fall colors according to Country Living Magazine.

- No parties or smoking of any kind allowed (cigarettes, cigar, weed, vape, candles, etc.)
- Minimum Rental age 25 and no kids younger than 12 years old allowed without prior approval.
- The roads are paved to the cabin, but can have steep incline in some areas. There are some large bumps along the road and getting into the driveway so low riding vehicles are not recommended and driveway is not suitable for RV's or large trailers
- There is a pet fee for up to two dogs per stay with a 2 dog maximum.
- No refunds for inclement weather, power or wifi outages, pests or animals. During severe weather threats or dangerous road conditions we may request you cancel your reservation to ensure your safety if the cabin or area is under extreme weather or road warning.
- The indoor fireplace is available for use from Oct - Mid-March and community pool is open Labor Day - Memorial Day
- The price of massages are not included in the nightly rate and must be booked and paid for separately.
- VRBO/DIRECT GUESTS: We ask that you complete a basic guest verification process and select either a $35 damage waiver (non-refundable) or $500 refundable security deposit with a $15 processing fee before your reservation is complete. Any cancellations or refunds will be charged a 4% processing fee as we are charged 4% by the credit card processor to collect payment.
