Thankful to have spent one week at this cabin!
I came with my best friend to celebrate her 60th b-day. The cabin was spectacular & had everything we needed,(the loft was huge w/ BA, hosts were top notch-communicating quickly & guiding us to attractions/restaurants that we desired. Each AM we enjoyed coffee on the patio soaking in ONLY the sounds of nature & going over our plans (or no plans) for the day. What a luxury! We loved the sites, shops, & restaurant's of Ely (Grand Ely Lodge for b-day dinner, Boat House Restaurant for tasty burgers & Northern Grounds/Log Cabin Coffee Drive Through). Pebbles Spa was heaven! WARNING-most places DON'T update their websites. Not fun driving around to be met with "Closed for the Season" signs. Nevertheless, we still spent too much money on fun souvenirs, ate too much food, read like crazy, napped & got too much sun (the weather was on our side). To us, we lived "cabin life" to the fullest where we enjoyed hanging out the most. We did some hiking at the Kawishiwi Falls, super cool! The TV? No need. We spent evenings with the sliding glass doors open, enjoying the nightly breeze off the lake, loons calling, reading, chatting & playing board games. Our best friend, red squirrel, enjoys unsalted peanuts if you're lucky enough to meet him & his cranky friend. Blessed to have that quality time with my dear friend. It was a 4 hour drive but so worth it. Read the Cabin Journal-guests thoughts & tips were helpful. Reserve this top notch cabin today! Thanks again Jennifer & Jason!

Wonderful stay!
We had a wonderful stay at the Burntside cabin in March 2024 with friends of ours. The cabin was beautiful inside and out and the view of the lake was spectacular! It was peaceful and just what we were looking for. Thank you so much - we would not hesitate to recommend this cabin to anyone!

It was just right
The home was just right. Comfortable, spacious and roomy for our family. The home included a great kitchen for all the family meals. Very large dining table/ benches to gather at. Two bathrooms. Very large upstairs with lots of room and areas to sleep and a large bedroom on the main floor. We had a warm February stay full of sunshine and mild temps. Thank you Jason and Jennifer for the perfect family getaway.

Incredible relaxing comfortable winter stay!
We six friends had a fantastic time at this stay! The cabin was cozy and warm - lovely sauna overlooking the lake! The beds and cabin space were just right for relaxing and reading/games, especially enjoyed the full formal dining room. Plenty of towels and bedsheets/blankets, but make sure to pack paper kitchen products & oils for cooking. Thank you to Jason & Jennifer!

Great Place To Relax
The cabin was great. Clean, quiet, and gorgeous. We really appreciated that the kitchen had everything we needed for cooking already in it. The property around the cabin was very beautiful as well. We will definitely stay here again.

Beautiful cabin on a beautiful lake
Three of us stayed at this lovely, well-equipped cabin on Burntside Lake. The huge windows gave way to a gorgeous view, especially lovely on a misty morning and pretty sunsets. We saw a huge fox on the property, as well as numerous deer, birds, squirrels, and chipmunks. The kitchen is well-stocked with dinnerware, pots and pans, and utensils, although you should plan to bring paper towels, napkins, tissues, and tin foil or plastic wrap if you think you’ll need them. The bedrooms are spacious and the living room is great for lounging. We really enjoyed staying here and hope to come back one day.

Beautiful log cabin at the edge of the BWCA
We had a great time. The sauna is awesome and I loved doing cold plunges in the lake between rounds. The cabin is very nice and we enjoyed the view of the lake from the loft. You won't regret staying here.

Peaceful and rejuvenating
We had a wonderful 4 days at the Burntside log cabin. We especially enjoyed jumping in the lake after taking a sauna. The kitchen is well outfitted and the grill is handy. The nearby hiking trails were quite nice and the canoeing was great.

This place has excellent vibe. It is so quiet that you can hear your ears ring. Also, it is awesome to be able to hear the loons on the lake. The sauna is a nice bonus; excellent amenity.

A little slice of heaven!
We couldn’t have been more happy with our week stay at our newly found Burntside Cabin in Ely, Mn! The cabin is absolutely gorgeous sitting on the most pristine, picturesque lakes ever created! Good experience. Great location.
This was a great time of the year to be here. Barely anyone on the lake except the loons and the eagles, and the water was still warm enough for swimming. Far enough north where you are away the from traffic noise. Good water access: great dock for sitting, swimming, fishing, or launching a canoe. Very peaceful north woods experience in a comfortable cabin in a beautiful location. Thoroughly enjoyed it!

Just perfect Northwoods retreat
This cabin is everything we dreamt of for a Northwoods getaway! The cabin is stunning with the beautiful logs, amazing view of the pines and the lake, and all the modern amenities you are used to. The beds are comfy with plenty of extra sleeping spaces, even with some extra cots if needed! The place is very clean with nice tile flooring, spacious kitchen, and a beautiful large dining table with a view. We loved everything about it. We never used the sauna or firepit but they both look very nice. The dock is perfect for swimming off of with a swim ladder and a nice little drop-off, and there is a small shallow rocky space to wade in as well. We spent hot afternoons in the water and under the shade of the pines, rainy days playing cards inside, and evenings on the large patio watching shooting stars and listening to the loons.

Great option in Ely
Overall, we had a great stay and this place has everything you need. We loved the location, lakeshore, grill, dock, and sauna. The check-in and out was easy and straightforward. Communication with owners and property managers was great. In terms of cleanliness, the floor was quite sticky and the cabin could use a deep clean. It could also use some more comfortable beds and higher quality sheets. But overall we would recommend the place for a family vacation in Ely.

We had a great week on Burntside Lake The cabin has everything you need-kitchen was well appointed. The oversized dining table was fun for games/puzzles. The dock area/sauna were perfect for us to dock our boat as well as paddle board and kayak. Can’t wait to go back.

Loved, Loved, Loved This Beautiful Log Cabin Right on the Lake
The four of us totally enjoyed this beautiful log cabin to celebrate a 60th birthday and a 9th wedding anniversary. The kitchen and grill were perfect for preparing delicious food… and then sitting down at the beautiful wood table and benches in the dining room completed the celebrations. We took daily walks on the main road which was very peaceful and beautiful. Fishing was good right off of the dock as we caught a few Northerns as well as a few Bass. We also took the canoe out and paddled over to the islands and fished many of the small coves. We woke up to the songs of loons and saw them a few times from a distance. On our first day we saw a river otter as he swam by the dock. We visited the International Wolf Center in Ely which was enjoyed by all of us. The hosts were gracious, very accommodating and communicated all details before we arrived. We are already considering a visit next summer to this awesome cabin.

Stayed for a week Feb 23 - Mar 2 2023. What a wonderful place. Woke up to fresh snow almost everyday. Enjoyed snowshoeing, hiking and ice fishing. Our adult kids and grandkids joined us for 3 days and everyone agreed it was a special place. After a freezing rain and light snow I was unable to climb the driveway one morning. A quick call and the caretaker was there and sanded the driveway. Thank You so much for sharing your property with us.

Novice snowshoers on the go
We loved our stay. A perfect location for a family winter vacation and oppertunities to try out snowshoeing. Lots of natural light through the big windows. Fabulous views of the frozen lake and surrounding trees. Fireplace so warm and cozy. Upstairs sleeping loft with full bathroom. Downstairs bedroom with seperate full bathroom. Kitchen nice and big for those family meal preps. Amazing large table and bench seating for our gathering. Such a great private location and close enough to Ely for shopping and exporing the area. Owners were very approachable if needed and so were the managers when called to give the driveway a plow after the snow.Thank you for the opprtunity to stay at your winter wonderland.

Perfect location
We stayed here for a snowmobile trips in February. The property itself is very clean and well maintained. There were ample bed sheets and linens. The view of burntside lake and it's distance, not too close or far, from Ely made it a great escape! We had a blast catching the trail on the lake and just hanging out in the living room.

Beautiful home, and perfect view
Great log cabin loft home right on the lake. View from the living room overlooking the lake was fabulous! Fully equipped kitchen, two bathrooms one with shower/tub and the other a shower. Plenty of towels, kitchen and bath. And a huge bonus, a sauna! House was very clean, with comfortable furniture . Communications were easy, accurate and very, very fast. A wonderful, home perfect for ANY season of the year.

Burntside Beauty
The cabin is wonderful,3 of our party arrived by snowmobile and 1 by truck.The fireplace felt great after the all day ride in 0 degree temps.Had a great sauna with a view of the sunset.Beds were comfy and clean.Definitely recommend staying here,would love to come back in the summer and dive in the lake after sauna!

Beautiful spot
Our weekend at this home was wonderful. The house is beautiful and so comfortable and the views in every direction are magical- a winter wonderland. The sauna near the lake was an added treat. We were in the area to try dog sledding. The house was not far from Ely to explore town and the dog sledding outfitter was easy to reach. Yet we felt like we were tucked away in the woods. Recommend this spot to everyone. We hope to return.

Relaxing Cabin By The Lake
We loved spending a few days here relaxing! The cabin was beautiful and it was very cozy. It was full of everything we needed: dishware, silverware, dishwasher, washer/dryer, plenty of comforters/linens, comfortable furniture, fireplace, fire pit… the list goes on! Pure relaxation.
If you are looking for a romantic, relaxing getaway this is the place for you. We felt so at peace here. My husband and I enjoyed the sauna, playing cards and drinking wine by the fireplace, cooking and watching the sunset over the lake. The hosts are kind and responsive. The cabin is extremely clean and stocked with everything you can possibly need. Much needed getaway and the best part is you don’t need to worry about anything except enjoying yourself.

FAMILY TRIP - Remembering Dad
Our experience was absolutely perfect. We planned this trip to fulfill my late husband's dream of staying in a log home on a lake as a family...he passed away in June. This trip was timed to be what would have been our 35th anniversary. From the log home we drove an hour away thru his beloved northern Minnesota woods to rest his ashes in his childhood stomping grounds on the Iron Range. Staying in Ely was ideally situated and our accommodations couldn't have been more perfect. We enjoyed the Bear sanctuary and made a donation in Pat's memory....his favorite animal has always been bears. The log home its stunning. Artwork delightful, kitchen well appointed, beds comfy just like home and the lakeside setting amazing! We plan to make this an annual family destination. Thank you so very much!

A cozy getaway
My husband and I LOVED this property. It was perfect for our three-night stay in this beautiful area. So quiet and peaceful. The air smells so clean and fresh, and the lake is clear and sparkling. A true gem!
