”Great hotel. The location is fantastic, the staff go above and beyond. A favourite spot for a getaway with opportunity to walk, visit High Force waterfall, have a drink in the cosy bar and dine in the elegant dining room. Breakfast was great - the food is obviously local and fresh.”

”No evening meal due to chef needing time off, staff seemed to have no idea what was happening. Only food available in the area was pizza at a hostel across the road.
Breakfast room opened at 8:30 and consisted of help yourself Coco pops, croissants or toast, if you had an early start, nothing.
Overall a very poor experience.”

”A lovely hotel situated in a wonderful location.
Staff very attentive, everything was 1st class and as for Peter Smith he played a blinder!

”A good option for a family visiting Durham University or, as we did, attending a graduation ceremony. Only a 20-minute drive from the centre of Durham, but cheaper than staying centrally in Durham. Friendly staff, good full English breakfast. We had a room that slept 4 people, which looked relatively recently renovated with ensuite shower and toilet. Shower was good.”
