Briar Lane House offers country homestead accommodation in the heart of historic Evandale village. Situated on 5 acres, amongst manicured gardens, we are the perfect base from which to explore Northern Tasmania, or just rest and unwind.
Breakfast provisions are provided including bread, butter, milk, tea, coffee, a selection of cereals and jams.
The house is set in spacious gardens opening out onto quiet country views. We have private, off street parking.
Briar Lane homestead has a large living/dining area, separate kitchen, 4 bedrooms (all upstairs), plus upstairs and downstairs bathrooms.
We are only a 5 minute walk to shops, cafe's and pub dining and right next-door to the Evandale market grounds which run every Sunday.
At Briar Lane we offer the original homestead as well as a second house that has been converted into two accommodation units. Situated between the two houses is our art gallery and workshop space, which is not generally opened to the public, but is utilised weekly by local groups to run art classes. All guests are welcome to share and enjoy the extensive gardens. Fire up the barbecue for a relaxed dinner, hide away in the summer house with a good book, or watch the sun set over the western tears from the old orchard.
Your hosts are Peter and Susan Waddle. We are usually on site during the day to greet you on arrival, and you will see us moving about the grounds as we go about the business of running the property and tending to the gardens. We utilise the front room of the old house as our HQ and reception, but this is locked off from the rest of Briar Lane House and we do not intrude into your space at any time. The laundry is shared with the hosts, as this is the laundry we use to service Briar Lane. Let us know if you wish to picnic in the grounds and we will set up some trestle tables where you wish.
