There was a very strong and odd smell at the front desk when I checked into our room. I thought maybe it was due to the pool maintenance that there was a note taped to the front desk about. My family and I put our bags in our room on the second floor and were in the room no more than 5-10 minutes before we left to get supper. The smell upstairs was horribly strong and smelled of acetone or a strong glue. When we returned to the hotel maybe 90 minutes later, we grabbed our bags from the room and went to checkout, as we were already getting headaches. There was no mention of any work being done in the hotel nor mention of this strong smell at check-in. Due to the circumstances, of this being about our health, I asked the staff at the desk if we could get a refund of some sort, as there is no way we can stay there. There was a group of people at the front desk wanting a double bed room, which is what we had. The staff member said that “ the manager said that since we are fully booked, everyone has to pay at least one night fee. But I can leave a note for her to review and she can contact you.” I thanked her and said that would be great. This was Friday night. It is now Sunday and nobody has reached out to us, and the full charge for the room of 157 cleared my account PLUS the $50 incidental fee that SHOULD have fallen off! We literally were in the room for 10 minutes tops and checked out three hours maximum after checkin. This is deceitful business practices, in a LOT of ways.
