Dear Motel 6 Guest Services,
I am writing to express serious concerns about our recent stay at the Motel 6 location in Fargo, ND on July 11–13, 2025. Our experience was deeply unsettling and unacceptable for a national hospitality brand.
Upon arrival, two men were filming my wife in the parking lot. When I confronted them, they claimed the hotel had taken $200 from them and bizarrely assumed my wife was a witness. This created an immediate sense of unease. Over the course of our stay, we were approached by three different individuals in the parking lot asking us for money. The environment outside the building did not feel safe.
Shortly after entering our room, while unpacking and preparing to change clothes, a Motel 6 staff member unlocked and entered our room without knocking. She claimed she didn’t know we were checked in—even though we already had our room keys. She then lingered in the doorway, saying, “I’m not trying to do anything weird,” which made the situation even more uncomfortable. This was a serious violation of our privacy and trust.
Additional room concerns in Room 120 included:
No working room phone
Broken bathtub drain stopper
Damaged remote control – unable to turn the volume down or shut off the television
We did speak with a kind maintenance man and a friendly female owner or manager, both of whom were polite. However, this does not excuse the unsafe and unacceptable conditions we experienced.
