”I made the reservation here as a bridge stop on my way into the Catskill Mountain for a few days and I'm so glad I did. It's remote -- the town of Claryville is like much of the Catskill mountains -- I was in Phonecia for several days last summer -- in that towns seem to lack a town center or even a substantive grocery store or restaurants. I was also warned that cell phone reception my not exist -- this was the case. However, the Blue Hill Mountain Lodge had a very nice restaurant and bar...

”Very disappointing experience. My daughter almost slipped into the pool because the railing was loose, creating a serious safety hazard. We brought this to the hotel’s attention, but no refund or compensation was offered. There was also very limited seating by the pool, the hallways had a strong odor, and the location did not feel safe. Due to these concerns, we chose not to stay and left the property. I would not recommend this hotel.”

”Our room was dirty and the tub backed up with nasty brown water. Staff were very negligent when you could find someone working they were very dismissive.”

”The front hotel staff was completely rude and told us we had to walk ALL THE WAY AROUND the hotel to get to the casino when there was a hallway connecting the 2. My mom had to walk down a hill because he was rude and didn’t even tell us where to go or what direction our room was. I won’t be going back.”

”The property is recently renovated and well appointed. The host was very helpful and made our stay quite easy and comfortable. We were greeted with a nice homemade cake upon arrival and enjoyed an amazing breakfast before departing. The B&B is very convenient for travelers who will be visiting the Bethel Arts Center. It was our first trip to Bethel for a concert. We plan to do it again.”

”Lovely place; I wish we had a chance to spend some time sitting on the porch overlooking the pond and just read and enjoy the beautiful weather. We'll plan for more leisure time on our next visit.”

”The room was lovely. The hotel is beautiful. We had a room in the actual building not in one of the outbuilding/cabins unfortunately because we were there just at the opening of season. The restaurant and bar were not up yet. Travel to other restaurants is good 10 to 15 minutes or longer. The pool was not open yet of course but during season, I’m sure it’s lovely and the staff was kind and very attentive.”

”Surprised at the condition of rooms. Bathroom poorly outdated and room felt rundown. Pleasantly employees but disappointing quality.”

”The place needs some renovations. The floor in our room needs maintenance. The bathtub looks a bit run down. The bathroom door needed to be cleaned, the rest of the room looked clean. We did not eat breakfast there since there was no warm breakfast left by 8:50 AM but there is a great dinner 2 minutes away. I appreciated that there were enough big towels. The staff was friendly.”

”The place is in a beautiful spot but totally run down. The staff does not care about the guests and will do nothing to help. No coffee until like 7:45 if you’re lucky. No complimentary coffee as advertised. Really disappointed all around. Place is so old and smelly. If you like nursing homes than you might enjoy staying. Sorry but true. Also would have been nice to know that they bus in inner city kids with one chaperone. I mean the kids were pretty nice but over ran the lobby and pool areas and...

”The owner, Marie, was the perfect host. She made every effort to see that we were completely satisfied with our stay. Her breakfast offerings were delicious and the presentation of the food was exceptional. We will return.”
