We removed the existing sheets on the beds and set aside for washing. All blankets are folded and left on beds for complete airing. We fold up rug so it doesn’t get dirty during our stay. The chalet is absolutely lovely and we loved waking up each morning to the sunrise & the trees and the view of the lake…it was magical. ”Very clean, I am ocd about a clean house and this was clean! Our stay was for 3 nights and all of them were cool nights, but the bedrooms were pretty hot, even with fan and open windows. Only other thing, the twin beds had very uncomfortable mattresses, and I get it normally it would be kids sleeping on them, but it was Nana sleeping on it for our stay. But those are not complaints, just to share when and if you ever do upgrades. All in all, we would stay there again! Very quiet, peaceful...

”The experience of watching the eclipse with my family out on the dock was awesome. We enjoyed taking the canoe out around Otter Lake and barbecuing in the yard. It was very relaxing. It was fun exploring the different areas around Forestport.”

My husband and I traveled with our 6 month old baby and our friends who have an 18 month old to New York for the total eclipse, and this rental was a great home base for us during the trip. It had a great location and was only a short drive from Old Forge. The wood stove kept the cabin cozy at night and our hosts were so communicative and friendly. Would definitely recommend this place to other travelers looking for a rustic but cozy cabin experience.”
