Tohtori Okerholm Loghaus kunnioittaa Dr. Richard Okerholm & on kauniisti varustettu 4 queen-size-julistevuodella ja nukkuu mukavasti 8 tässä aito, historiallisessa ruotsalaisessa hirsimökissä, joka on alun perin rakennettu vuonna 1820. Löydät sänkymme ja tyynyt olevan yhtä mukavia, ellei enempää kuin kotisi! Nauti aamukahvia ja auringonlaskuviiniä isoilla esiportaan vipuilla ja purjelentokoneilla. Kevyt aamiainen ja aamukahviasemat odottavat sinua ennen kuin lähdet kaupunkiin, kun taas kirkkaat tähdet odottavat sinua auringonlaskun jälkeen.

Tämä talo tehtiin äskettäin hienovarainen uudelleensuunnittelu uusilla valaisimilla, uusilla huonekaluilla, raikkaalla maalilla ja koristeellisilla korostuksilla. Sen on suunnitellut tyylikkäästi The Savant Home, Austin, Texas, mukavuudella ja hill country-eleganssilla pääprioriteettina.

DR. Okerholm Loghaus kunnioittaa omistajan isää Dr. Richard A. Okerholm, tutkimusfarmakokinetiikka. Hänellä oli tärkeä merkitys Lipitorin, Seldanen, Mucinexin, Sudafedin ja tupakoinnin lopettamiseen tarkoitettujen lääkkeiden kehittämisessä.

Tohtori Okerholm Loghaus oli aikoinaan koirarauta, joka oli rakennettu pääasiassa leveistä keltaisista pappelipuista, joissa oli sekoitettu muutama tammipuu. Se sijaitsi alun perin lähellä Parsonsia, Tennessee, noin 1820. Se purettiin, kuljetettiin sitten Texasiin ja rakennettiin kiinteistölle 1998 uudelleen.

Siinä on täysleveä eteinen kuisti, joka on täynnä suuria vipuja ja liukulaitteita, leveät lankku mäntylattiat, rappausseinät ja katot sekä antiikkipuiset ovet, joissa on antiikkirauta. Kaksi isoa makuuhuonetta vastakkaisilla puolilla jakaa keskeisen olohuoneen, jossa on katedraalin katto ja antiikkiset adze-leikatut palkit. Kaasuhirsitakka toimii takan puolella olevan sähkökytkimen avulla.

DR. Okerholm Loghausissa on kevyesti sisustettu keittokomero kahdeksalle. Sähköinen paistinpannu ja iso krokkausastia / hidas liesi sijaitsevat ruokakomeroissa ja ovat käytettävissä, samoin kuin minijääkaappi ja ruokakomero. Kylpyhuoneessa on 6-tuumainen poreallas ja antiikkityylinen pesuallas, jossa on vaakamaalattu shiplap-tila koko tilavassa kylpyhuoneessa. Astuen ulos keittiönurvasta talon takaosaan, on graniittipatio, jossa on ulkona ruokailupaikkoja 8: lle ja jota ympäröivät kukkapenkit, joissa on Lady Banks -ruusuja. So glad we didn’t stay in town!! This was absolutely perfect!

It was so refreshing to end our day at this cozy retreat. It was a beautiful property, even better than the pictures! There was no traffic, no exhaust fumes, no noise or light pollution! We saw the most beautiful stars and night sky…it was clear enough to see the Milky Way. The cabin was so well appointed. Every detail was so well thought out. It was an honor to stay there. We’ll most definitely be back. I would rebook without hesitation. The owners were so welcoming and available, although we had no issues or need for assistance. They thought of everything. This plan was worth every penny! Close to town. Don’t miss out!

Beautiful and peaceful!!

We enjoyed our stay so much we will be back! The location was close to the main shopping area and wineries but felt like you were in the middle on nowhere which is what we wanted. Wow! The log house was everything we thought it would be and more! This was our very first time in such a beautiful cabin in Fredricksburg! Appreciated all the details in decorating! We made some beautiful memories as a family and especially loved making s’mores in the fire pit! Everything g was provide and at our fingertips! It really is a MUST VISIT/stay! The perfect cozy hill country getaway!

If you read reviews like I do to decide if you will book a property, trust this review and BOOK RIGHT AWAY!! Don’t second guess it, don’t look anywhere else. This cozy little ranch cottage is INCREDIBLE. It’s immaculately clean… even my 14 year old son noticed and said “oh! It smells so nice in here.” The beds are incredibly comfortable and made with soft linens and quilts. The pillows are some of the best we’ve had, even at the finest hotels we’ve stayed in. The remodeled kitchenette was just right for our stay and so charming. We were hoping for a special family holiday getaway in Texas hill country, and our stay did not disappoint!! We arrived after dark to find the cottage waiting for us with a warm glow from the windows. Inside, each room was decorated so beautifully and all decked out for the holidays. Our family loved playing games by the fire place, reading on the porch, and watching the wildlife on the ranch. And the wi-fi is super fast…a huge bonus! Charming Fredericksburg, with its wineries, shops and galleries, is just a few short minutes away. But, honestly, we had a hard time tearing ourselves away from the ranch. It was so peaceful and comfortable! April was super easy to communicate with. Everything went seamlessly for check in. Be sure to read the black book in the cottage to learn about her family and the ranch. We would definitely book here again and hope to come back!

The perfect getaway!

We so enjoyed our getaway in this cozy cabin on the outskirts of Fredericksburg! The cabin was beautifully restored and super clean. We loved the beauty and peacefulness of the ranch. We took pleasure in seeing numerous deer, a donkey and longhorns roaming nearby. We enjoyed meeting the owners and their daughter who were all super sweet and friendly. Wow! Gorgeous Place

The best part of Fredericksburg was our cabin at Legacy. We stay in a piece of history and it was a gorgeous 200 year old cabin. The beds was ooohh lala so very comfy. The shower was even amazing. It was definitely worth every penny. Beautiful view and seen some deer. I highly recommend this place and we will be back for another escape from the hustle and bustle of our life.

Beautiful log cabin minutes from Main St.

We made the decision to get away to Fredericksburg this past weekend. We have visited before but on this occasion we decided not to stay close to town. After some research, we happened upon Legacy Ranch. Just seven miles NW of downtown on Highway 87. I must say, what a find!! We had the pleasure of renting the Dr. Okerholm Loghaus. A 200 year old Tennessee log cabin that was transported to Texas a few years ago. The craftsmanship and upgrades to the old home are wonderful. The layout was perfect. Two nice sized bedrooms with two queen size poster beds in each. Very comfortable mattresses with high thread count sheets made sleeping so restful. The jacuzzi tub in the remodeled bathroom was a nice plus. The wide plank wood floors are beautiful and the homes A/C system is very high end. But for us, the big front porch with several rocking chairs was the absolute best!! Even in a late Texas spring, the breeze, shade and views were splendid. You will be surrounded by wildflowers, post oaks and a star filled sky at night. If you are searching for absolute quiet and a true out of town, country experience you will be very pleased with the detail of Legacy Ranch. The owners were kind enough to give us a tour of this amazing property. The chapel is gorgeous and the plans for the venue are incredible. We will definitely be back. Staci

Wonderful Place to Get Away from It All

After being cooped up for a few months due to the pandemic, we absolutely had to get away. We found Legacy Ranch online, and decided to give it a try. It exceeded all expectations. The property is positively beautiful. Granted, it is a few miles outside of Fredericksburg, but that was. plus for us; the quietude and sounds of nature were so refreshing. There are birds, wildflowers, deer, and neighboring livestock. April and Erik stopped by to visit, and always made us feel completely at home. I can't tell you how many hours I just spent on the front porch in the glider, feeling the cool breeze and watching the beautiful skies. We will definitely be back--we hope to make this our new home away from home!

A little piece of hill country Heaven!

The Legacy Ranch and its houses are even more beautiful in person! We felt like we truly stepped away from the hustle and bustle of the city life and into a slower-paced, comfy, picturesque cabin nestled only a few minutes from downtown Fredericksburg. We spent the days in and around town and returned to a moonlit ranch. Our cabin was so beautifully decorated with each detail adding to its warmth. The beds, pillows, and blankets were so incredibly comfortable and the bathtub was so big you could actually float in it! April and Erik were so hospitable; always available for questions and even provided us with additional insight about places to visit and the best restaurants. Our family will definitely be back! Cozy cabin, lovely hostess!

My aunt, her sister, and cousin all stayed in the Dr. Okerholm Loghaus for a family reunion weekend. While I didn't stay overnight, I did take a tour of the home and property, and let me tell you, I wish I could have! The cabin is so cozy, and April has done a phenomenal job of decorating it and making it a warm and inviting home away from home. She even dedicated a wall to not only the history of the home itself, but also to its namesake, Dr. Okerholm, the owner's father. My aunt and her sister raved about how comfortable the beds were, and really enjoyed the luxurious bathroom that had everything they needed. All of this modern luxury in a rustic 1800s log cabin - perfect! The property is beautiful and peaceful. You're bound to see wildlife roaming around the acreage. April is such a kind and professional hostess. She answered all my questions promptly and was always just a phone call away. She even brought over a stack of DVDs for my family to pick from for a movie night. Everything in the cabin was so clean and fresh, it even smelled wonderful. Thank you so much, April, for making my family's accommodations perfect for our special weekend!

Loved it!

We really enjoyed our stay at the Okerhaus log cabin. Everything was very clean and super comfortable. We were a little concerned with 6 women sharing 1 bathroom, but it ended up being totally fine! Sitting by the cozy fireplace with wine and snacks was our favorite memory. Erik and April are awesome hosts and we hope to come back soon!

Beautiful Cabin!

The cabin was beautiful, clean, updated, just generally very well kept. Additionally, Amy, the host, was very responsive anytime we had an issue. We would stay again!

Very Impressive!!

The entire experience was beyond expectation, and we will definitely stay at Legacy Ranch again in the future. I highly recommend Legacy Ranch for a quiet, cozy and peaceful getaway that's just minutes from the town of Fredericksburg.
