”Our host at Au Fer à Cheval was Romain, a friendly and helpful man. He owns about 20 English thoroughbred race horses, as well as breeds them. His farm is in a beautiful location with lovely views. It was unfortunately cold and wet for the two nights that we were there, so we couldn't use the pool, and the roads were too slippery for him to take us out in his horse-drawn carriage, but we did see two of his retired racing mares with their foals. ”There was no staff available at all, or no food for the evening of my stay. They had used such strong cleaners or fragrances in the room that I had to sleep with the window open, yet still had a migraine attack during the night and morning. This put my meetings the next day in jeopardy. Beautiful grounds, but unfortunately the absolute lack of staff, guidance etc left me feeling incredibly unsecure. ”

”Our stay was perfect for an overnight during further travel. We had a friendly greeting with information of where to eat. The room was clean and comfortable and a more than adequate breakfast. We were lucky to have a parking space on site but there are not really enough spaces for the number of rooms. ”
