”This hotel opened its restaurant at 5 a.m. on Sunday, April 26, 2026, for breakfast for guests who were booked for a train excursion that boarded at 7 a.m. What excellent service. We talked to other people who had stayed at other local hotels and were told that some hotels did not alter their hours to accommodate this important event (the train ride to commemorate the 250th anniversary of the United States). Kudos to the Doubletree in Newark, Ohio.”

”The room was nice and clean, Staff was great with us, Parking lot like new and great lighting. Asper as breakfast we went to relatives house to eat we live four hrs away..... WOULD STAY THERE AGAIN.”

”Great place. Clean, staff was good, rooms are great The only thing I didn’t like was that you could not turn on the fan to run constantly (to block noise) It was a quiet place so didn’t need it. Overall, terrific HI Express.”

”There were a few HVAC issues with the room though the frontdesk and maintenance teams were prompt and courteous. Service was friendly albeit a bit slow as it seemed they may have been a bit understaffed. Overall, the room was clean and comfortable; no significant shortcomings. ”

”The property is beautiful but I have to say the Mattresses on the beds were horrible and so were the pillows!! Did not get a good sleep the entire time I was there… I strongly advise they upgrade the mattresses and pillows!!! If not I would not stay there again…”

”The hotel overall was great. Staff was super. They are going through renovations so there was a bit of a mess as to be expected. The ice machine was broke but the front desk provided ice. The breakfast area was out of coffee one day but they replenished next day. Room was clean. Once the renovations are done it will be great!”
