Hollyhock House - a cozy home stay

Relax with the whole family at this peaceful 3 bedroom home, comfortably located 15 minutes from Moscow and Lewiston, and 35 minutes from Pullman.

Enjoy a fully supplied kitchen, washer & dryer, and a large back patio. Two queen beds, and a twin in the bedrooms. A modular couch in the living room converts for a 4th bed.

The family does live in the space full-time, but all personal affects have been removed to make the house a cozy stay for anyone visiting the area on those special weekends.

The space
Welcome to our lovingly restored early 20th-century farmhouse, nestled in the quiet, family-friendly town of Genesee, Idaho. Surrounded by the famous rolling hills of the Palouse region, this cozy haven offers a rustic, calming escape for up to seven guests. Step onto the front porch with your morning coffee, wander through our beloved native plants garden, and unwind on the back patio as the sun sets over the farmland. This is small-town tranquility at its best.

The Space
This old house was built in the year 1900 and has its quirks and charms, from wavy kitchen floors to 11ft ceilings.

The spacious kitchen is the heart of the home, and boasts fully stocked cabinets with tea, spices and staple ingredients to supplement your groceries. The large center island is perfect for gathering around, preparing meals and spending quality time together. There is a new induction stove with oven, a microwave, toaster, and of course, a coffee maker!

The cozy living room offers a modular couch which can be converted into a Full sized bed, along with a piano (badly out of tune), shelves stuffed with books, boardgames and puzzles, a large Smart TV which can stream any service you have an account for, and a desk for you to catch up on those emails if needed.

The first bedroom houses a Queen sized bed, all the closet space you need and a small desk.

The second bedroom also houses a Queen sized bed, use of the full closet, and a computer desk offers a quiet space away from the living room to get some work done.

In the sunny third bedroom you will find a Twin sized bed and a cute hand painted mural, with access to the built-in drawers.

The newly updated bathroom provides a tub and shower and all the basic hygiene essentials.

A dedicated laundry room with washer and dryer provides added convenience, with a door leading directly to the back patio.

We hope you will take advantage of the large back patio on those warm fall evenings, take a stroll through our native plants garden and pick organic apples from the tree.

Yes, a family lives here, but we have done our best to make the space as boutique-hotel as possible, neutralizing the space so that you might feel at ease during your stay!

The Neighborhood
Genesee is a charming, close-knit farming community of about 950 residents. Known as a "garden spot" of the Palouse, it's surrounded by rolling wheat fields and breathtaking landscapes. Outdoor enthusiasts will love the proximity to Palouse Falls State Park, home to a stunning 200-foot waterfall, and nearby hiking and biking trails.

We have Roaming Grounds coffee trailer open Tues-Fri just down the road from the house for your morning fix! Open Tues-Friday 7am-12:30pm.

For lunch and dinner, we recommend you try The Pastime Restaurant open Tues-Sat from 11am-10pm, located on Walnut Street.

And you must visit our world class Kascha Quilts – a fabric arts display unlike any other, with over 350 pieces to touch and see. Open Thurs-Sat from 10am-3pm or by appointment.

Genesee is a peaceful, safe, and welcoming village where neighbors look out for one another.

Guest access
You'll have full private access to the entire house, front porch, back patio, and garden.

Other things to note
Please be aware that there are very quiet neighbors in a "mother-in-law" apartment upstairs. You'll hardly know they're there, but we believe in full transparency so you can book with confidence.
