”Very nice hotel walkable to many great restaurants and core downtown area. Parking is $45 a night. Breakfast is good but was not replenished- got there an hour before closing and no yogurts, muffins etc. They did refill milk and hot water upon request. Not a huge issue though. Rooms were very nice, well equipped which was greatly appreciated. ”

”We had a wonderful time staying at Hotel Thaxter! The location was perfect for walking around Portsmouth, plenty of local shops and restaurants around. The staff was very helpful and provided some great recommendations. We enjoyed our stay and would certainly stay again if we travel to Portsmouth. ”

”Room was beautiful and the location was great. Contactless which I wasn't sure about but was great. Easy code to get into the building and our room and check out was just as easy. Lovely Tea/Coffee bar with snacks. Will stay here again.”

”We love Portsmouth--so walkable, such interesting galleries and restaurants and more. And we always stay at the Hotel Portsmouth. Great location, free parking, great rooms, great breakfast. This time we paid a little extra for the upgrade to a Superior King and felt it was well worth it. Even though we're just two people, the extra room--and two separate seating areas--mattered a lot.”

”My only surprise was that parking was not included, it was an additional $45 which I thought was high for the price I paid for the room. The only other complaint is the room was much more than I needed, included a full kitchen and all I needed was a room with a bed.”

”The hotel was very clean and the staff was very helpful. The only two issues I had were minor. The dryer in the guess laundry room was horribly loud and the pool was a little on the chilly side.”

”10/10 stay! Very excellent breakfast selection, everything in the room was comfortable. Employees were very helpful and friendly! If I had to critique something, it’d be the size of the bed pillows, seemed kinda small for a king bed. Would absolutely stay again!”

”There is no beach view at this property it is in the middle of a business park one end takes you out to the shopping and the other end takes you out to the highways. The property is nice the rooms are very nice and clean the breakfast was great plenty of options.”
