Creekside Cabin at Gettysburg

Welcome to Creekside Cabin: The cabin is approximately 100 years old, nestled on the “Manor of the Masque”. This land was deeded to William Penn in 1735, the cabin sits along Marsh Creek. The creek's origin is about 5 miles away and courses through Adams County and Frederick County, before eventually emptying into the Chesapeake Bay. The surrounding farmland/woodland was occupied during the Civil War and the farm at the end of the lane served as an active Civil War hospital. Soldiers are buried near the farm.

Now that we’ve presented you with a brief history, we would like to describe the benefits of staying with us. The picturesque view of Marsh Creek comes with an abundance of wildlife; turkey, deer, hawks, and owls.

We offer 2 bedrooms, 2 full baths, a kitchen, a large dining area attached to an open family room. You will fall in love with the old stone fireplace and the scenic view from the sunroom. Amenities included are fire pit, horseshoes and gas grill.

Along with your comfortable/scenic stay the cabin is situated within close proximity to center square Gettysburg. All notable Gettysburg attractions are within 10 minutes of the Creekside Cabin.

Our stay was a getaway to relax and explore the historical setting of Gettysburg. The VRBO is clean and has a warm ambience about it. The owners checked in with us to ensure everything met our expectations, and even requested input on anything that was lacking or may be needed. Greg and Tami were communicative, welcoming, lovely hosts. The cabin was well stocked and ready for us, very clean with lots of space for our belongings and for the kids to spread out. We loved having both the front and back porches for morning coffee and evening wine. The fire pit outside was the family favorite. The nicest surprise was the kitchen, which had everything we needed to cook, clean, and feel right at home.

Our stay was fantastic. The owners, Tami and Greg, were so welcoming and accomodating throughout the stay. Everything that we needed was provided and they thought of everything, right down to little bottles of shampoo, soap, or even toothpaste and toothbrushes if you forgot your own. Cabin is rustic and cozy. Location is perfect, not far from town, but quiet enough for you to enjoy the wildlife and scenery that the location has to offer. Wish we could've stayed longer!

The log cabin is very charming. It was our first time staying in a log cabin, so the construction was really interesting and seemed unique. The decor was very country in keeping with a log cabin. The upholstered chairs and sofas are super comfortable. The kitchen is so convenient; everything is within easy reach. If you plan to do a lot of cooking, def pack your own herbs and spices. There are convenient grocery stores within 10 minutes for you to stock up on condiments and all the ingredients you need. The laundry room, located on the enclosed back porch, means you can pack lightly and launder clothes as needed.There are room or portable air conditioners in the great room downstairs and the upstairs sitting room and in the two bedrooms upstairs so you can adjust the temp to suit in each room. This cabin is super quiet and in the middle of the woods. We saw deer every day. One day we saw wild turkeys in the brush. Historic downtown Gettysburg is within 10 minutes. The battlefield is pretty much all around you. The barn on the property next door to the cabin was a hospital for Confederate soldiers. The hosts are very hospitable and happy to answer questions. They put together a binder with recommendations for restaurants, stores, and activities. If you prefer quiet and being in a serene, wooded setting, this is the ideal rental.

My family and I were in town to attend a sports event right down the road, and this place was perfect! Beautiful, quiet/private location, plenty of space for the kids (and parents) to relax, and the cabin is equipped with everything you could possibly want. If you're in the area, I would absolutely recommend staying here!

Pictures dont don't this cabin justice. By meeting and talking to Tami and her husband you can tell the love and joy they have for the cabin. Its a good size cabin. Beds were nice and the fire place came in handy for the chilly nights we had on our stay.. It's location is perfect for that needed get away and not far from shopping, food and all the historical sights to see. We drove into Baltimore to see the Aquarium and Harbor and another day to Harpers Ferry and made it back from both before it got dark. My 15yr old granddaughter and 17yr old nephew loved it! Especially the creek below. My granddaughter claimed the back screen room for herself bc of the peacefulness and the view. It was comfortable and safe. I would highly recommend this cabin.. R. FIELDS

It was such a pleasure to stay at the cabin. Tami and Greg are gracious and kind hosts. They checked in on us to make sure we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. It is evident that a lot of thought and care has been put into making sure guests have a comfortable stay. The location is so peaceful, which you can also enjoy from the two enclosed porches. We also loved that the cabin is just a short drive to Gettysburg, historical sites and museums. We would love to stay again!

Charming, private tucked away slice of heaven

I’ve been to Gettysburg a few times but only for a day trip. I booked this cabin and I couldn’t be happier! Charming cabin with all of the essentials. The property was beautiful and very close to all of the military parks. The owners were beyond helpful the entire process. I loved the fire pit out front and with the late summer nights starting to cool off some now the fire pit was a must! The river views were awesome and the amount of wildlife that I saw every morning and afternoon was the cherry on top for me. Deer, turkeys, rabbits. This is a great spot for someone who enjoys nature and history! I will definitely be booking this cabin for my next trip to Gettysburg and hopefully for longer next time!!

Incredible place to stay, relax and enjoy the Gettysburg area. Would recommend highly for anyone looking for an enjoyable experience and a place that feels like home. The cabin is very well set up, clean and in a good location to the battlefield and town. Its our favorite go to place to stay. The owners are the best, there is you need help or have a question, like visiting with the perfect friend or family but never intrusive. Everyone who has stayed there wants to go back!
