Madison House
Fantastic A great place to relax, sleep and enjoy life. The place is so user friendly that no time is spent wondering. My 3rd visit and I am looking forward to a 4th. Love the house and our time spent there.

This is a beautiful well taken care of home. Everthing you could need or want is available and its very clean. You feel at home in this house and we had lots of sibling reminicing while in town for our brothers funeral.

Perfect family getaway
We needed a place to stay while visiting Grandma. She was able to stay with us. The kids loved baking with her in the nice kitchen. We got have family dinners and grill together. We saw one hummingbird and many other birds. We enjoyed the beautiful porch and swing. It was perfect for the 5 of us. Everyone could have their own space when needed but we all had a place yo sit to visit comfortably together. We will hopefully be back soon!

Home away from home!
This was my husband and mines first time standing at a house that wasn’t a relative and not a hotel setting. Ms. Myrna was beyond amazing too! She answered all are questions, plus she founded out that we’re driving and she let us check in early so we could get some sleep from driving all night. It reminds you of your grandparents’ house! Plus, it was only like two or three houses down from our relatives house too! This is perfect stay for anyone! Definitely will stay there the next time we are in town!!!! Thank you again for opening your home to us!!

Fantastic
It truly is a home away from home. Myrna and Craig have created a very comfortable, homey place both inside and out. The beds are comfortable, great sleeps, coffee already there so could enjoy before needing to shop. You have your privacy but they are only minutes away if needed and they have an incredible amount of information about everything you would want to know. The link to history is comforting and a reminder of good times. We will definately return.

Definitely an experience
We loved this house, very charming, clean and lots of room. First night there was a huge storm and we slept right through it. Unfortunately, a tree fell on the electrical service and we were without power for the rest of the stay. Our host were great to work with. Craig and Myrna we will be back again. Thank you

Right on Route 66! Highly recommended!
The original Route 66 (1926-30) goes right in front of the house, but that doesn't mean there's traffic. It's actually a quiet residential neighborhood. I was told that the house was once owned by the Deck family (of Deck's Drug Store, est. 1884, in downtown Girard). So, you get to stay in really sweet old home that is well-kept and has an early Route 66 feel. You get the entire house, so it's a bit pricey for a solo traveler like me---but it was worth it for the experience alone. That said, with three bedrooms, a family or group of friends splitting the cost makes the lodging a very good value.

Wonderful hosts - Amazing property
This is an amazing, historic house full of period furnishings and Route 66 memorabilia. It’s spotlessly clean and very well equipped. There were nice bed linens and a good assortment of snacks in the kitchen. The hosts were awesome to work with us through our schedule change! Highly recommend this beautiful house to anyone in the area!!!

This older well maintained home is a quiet restful retreat. It has beautiful original woodwork and antiques. For those looking to unplug this is for you. There is no Wi-Fi and only basic cable so you can escape the online world if you want.

Nice house full of treasures
It was a very nice home full of old and even antique treasures and furniture, very well taken care of. The kids thought the house was haunted! They loved it. We arrived in the middle of a storm and it was a little difficult to get in but tue property manager helped us out. It was a great stay.

Little spooky but beats a sterile hotel room.
Once you get over feeling of being in someone else's house (mainly due to décor, which includes quite a bit of knick-nacks) , it is nice set-up. Beds are comfortable, bathroom is fine, kitchen has what you need, everything works. I enjoyed the history of the place. We would stay there again.

150 yr Raymond town settlement
This was the closest property to our destination. Our group of 5 was very comfortable at the Madison House. We enjoyed walking around Girard and visiting the surrounding villages. The house was perfect for us, especially the well-equipped kitchen and comfortable parlor. We missed WiFi but found a number of interesting oldie TV programs. Thanks you for the awesome home-grown tomatoes.

Comfortable and Cozy
Our family of four loved staying here. Our kids are used to staying in hotels when we travel, so it was such a treat for them to get to have the extra space. The house is so clean and comfortable, and there are so many fun little touches that made the house feel so welcoming. We made ourselves right at home and enjoyed watching movies and playing games. We would spend our early mornings on the porch swing before going out and exploring the area. Girard is a quiet, pleasant little town and we enjoyed nearby Springfield and Litchfield as well. Craig and Myrna were flexible with our dates and very easy to communicate with. We would love to come back to stay again!

Comfortable quiet home and quite nice. The only downside was the downstairs bedroom With on-suite bathroom. A toilet only with no sink and unable to close door when using toilet was hardly an on-suite bath. Prob should be listed differently - wouldn’t have kept us from renting however. Very nice place to stay.

Janis, we are glad you liked the Madison House. Thanks for bringing the bathroom to our attention, it was listed as toilet only, so there is no confusion we removed the 2nd bath from website, but there is still a glitch on the Expedia site. We appreciate the positive review.

Grandma’s 80th birthday
This home was just perfect for our short stay. From the beautiful front porch with swing to the quaint backyard,, it felt like being at grandma’s house! The neighborhood was quiet. The woodwork is just beautiful. Only complaint, although minuscule is that the towels were very small and thin. Would give 10 stars if it was possible! Myrna and Craig were extremely responsive.

Fishing trip
Me and some of my college roommates from 30 years ago met up here to enjoy some fishing on otter lake. The house was perfect for us. Plenty of room, clean, and quite. I definitely recommend it to anyone who is interested in staying down there.

Great for a family
We were very happy with this house. It’s hard to find an affordable place for a family of 7, but this fit the bill! Our kids loved sitting on the porch swing. The kitchen had everything we needed for meal prep. It was a very nice home.
