”The room looked clean when we first arrived, but then we noticed all the crumbs on the bedside table from the previous guests. Bed was very comfortable and having a bar with a restaurant downstairs was great. The location was very convenient and there was a few other shops around. We turned on the bathroom light/fan and a putrid smell came up from the drain. We showered in the dark from then on. There is no reception here, so you need to see the bar staff to check in. ”A charming character Victorian hotel with excellent restaurant, and adjacent accommodation. We only stopped one night but will be back. We were made welcome from start to finish by all staff. The bar is full of history, and food in the heritage restaurant was superb and a credit to the chef.”

”Enjoyed that I could come and go without any need to interact with anyone. Sort of like having my own personal home/mansion. Beautiful location and grounds. If I had time for a longer stay, I would have had more time to enjoy the building and its grounds. Checkout was a simple as leaving the key and locking the front door. Hope to be back again one day!! ”First of all the location is excellent… right in the middle of the rainforest, although the drive up there is not for the faint hearted. My room was very basic, which was expected. The thing I didn’t like was that the door to the deck didn’t seal at all, so when the wind blew at night it rattled the blinds and kept me awake. Parking spots are very tight for even a modest size car. Food options were limited and expensive. If you are not in a self catering unit you run out of choices quickly. I...

”The resort definitely needs some TLC, since it's been up for sale needed updates and repairs are just not happening. Having said that the place is comfortable and clean and the staff are fantastic. We were a bit disappointed that the restaurant is now only open on Friday and Saturday nights but understandable considering how quiet the place is through the week. The upside is that there's almost no one there mid week so you almost have the place to yourself. The nearby pub and cafe/Indian...
