Gosfield Hall is a magnificent building with noble connections, home to many kings and queens in the past. Overlooking a tranquil lake, the historical mansion is set among 10 acres of parkland in the heart of picturesque rural Essex. A seamless combination of Elizabethan charm and Georgian elegance, the grand interior of the house is home to the Queen’s Gallery, Grand Salon, Marquis of Buckingham’s former Ballroom and Library along with a number of stately bedrooms.

Externally, Gosfield Hall is equally as impressive. The property has retained many of his historical period features including its leaded windows, chimneys and clock and weathervane.

After being exiled from France King Louis XVIII of France and Navarre, and his Queen Mary-Josephe-Louise of Savoy took refuge in England. Lord Buckingham had long been in sympathy of Royalsit France, and in 1807 offered to loan them Gosfield Hall. They gratefully accepted this offer and along with a huge entourage of courtiers and staff they stayed there for the next couple of years. Over this time the Hall become a home of lavish French hospitality, with many social gatherings including such distinguished guests as the Prince Regent. According to French tradition on Sunday's the villagers were allowed into the kitchen to see the dinner set out for the King, and on occasions were allowed into The Grand Salon to watch him dine. King Louis and his Queen moved out of the Hall in 1809.

”Omg the whole experience here was fabulous, Summer and Ebony the 2 female staff were wonderful. Summer would go above and beyond and nothing was too much for her. She had a wonderful sweet funny aura about that was so refreshing. Later we met Kieran the manager he was wonderful so helpful and very funny even though he was unwell with flue nothing was to much. Such a wonderful place to stay, very clean and the food was amazing too. Dog friendly and loads of treats a for the dog available and...
